Parish Updates

All the overhead wires in the village have at last been removed.
The ESB wires from the bottom of Newrow hill and the phone wires from Kearney’s crossroads to the end of the village are now underground.
The new lighting columns are now traffic blue.
This colour has proven safer for pedestrians and cyclists than black.
This blue blends in with the many gates, doors and signs already painted blue in the village and also the lovely new church sign.
The Newtowncashel entrance signs that the Co Council installed last year are also this blue.
This change in the lighting is the largest project undertaken by the Tidy
Towns committee in the last 35 years.
