BENEFIT FUNCTION
There will be a Benefit Function for Patrick Mc Donagh,in The Local on Saturday night the 27th of February at 9.00p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

TIDY TOWNS AGM
The Tidy Towns AGM takes place this Monday night the 8th of February in The Hill at 8:00 pm.
Much has been lost from this once thriving little village but the Tidy Towns hope that the charm of our village will continue into the future.
All are welcome.

SEVEN TREES FOR SEVEN SIGNATORIES
The Dept. of Environment have informed Newtowncashel Tidy Towns that because they were once winners of the National Award that they have been chosen to receive seven oak trees to commemorate the seven signatories of the Irish Proclamation.
The only condition is that this site must be in Public Ownership, or a piece of private ground that can be transferred to Public Ownership.
An information plaque will be erected on the site.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Boys u10 indoor soccer, Hard luck to our young team who lost to Kenagh A on Thursday last.. The team have only been together for the last 3 weeks and put up a brave challenge but came up short on the night.

FAS WORKER
A vacancy for a FAS worker exists in Newtowncashel.

U13 indoor soccer
The boys were in hard luck losing to Clonbroney with the last kick of the game in extra time. The lads fought back to level the game 4-4 only to suffer the heartbreak of conceding with the last kick of the ball. The lads are to be commended for their excellent effort & we look forward to challenging in Futsal next week.

National School Enrolmwnt
St. Mary's N.S. Enrolment for September 2016, takes place from 1st February to 5th February.  Enrolment packs can be collected from the school and relevant forms returned during this period.

CAIRDE BEG
Cairde Beag enrolment is now open for September 2016 and with the introduction of the second free preschool year, meaning a child can avail of free preschool from the age of 3 years, places are very limited.  If your child was born between 1st January 2012 and 31st August 2013 then your child is eligible for free preschool in September.  I have 2 spaces left so if you or someone that you know has a child who is eligible but has not already booked them in then please contact me as soon as possible on 0863175753.

Our next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday the 2nd of February at 8pm in the hill newtowncashel.New members welcome as always.

ART CLASSES
Beginner classes Thu mornings 10.30–12.30pm Commencing 21st January at Bridgeways Dean Egan Resource Centre Ballymahon.
Fee  €10 per session.
Learn about drawing, colour/painting and art appreciation.Please bring along sketching things, sketchpad, 2b – 5b pencils, willow charcoal, soft eraser, notebook, etc. It is hoped to plan an outing to The National Gallery in May.
Improver sessions continue 20th Jan Wednesday evenings 7 - 9at
