TIDY TOWNS AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Tidy Towns will be held next Monday evening the 9th of March in The Hill at 8:30pm.
All are welcome who have an interest in our little village remaining clean and beautiful.
NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA GROUP
Newtowncashel Drama Group held their spring production of 'Cat among Pigeons', a hilarious comedy,last. Friday the 28th, Saturday the 29th of February and Sunday March the 1st at 8.30 pm It was a great night's entertainment for all the family Congratulations and well done to all involved on yet another fantastic production.
BASKETBALL SUCCESS
Congratulations and well done to the School Girls Basketball Team who won the Division 1 Final in Edgeworthstown last Sunday evening the 1st of March.
Also congratulations to Ruth Murtagh on winning Player of the Game.
Special word of congratulations to both Joe Mulvihill and John Morrissey who guided the the team to success.
TEXT ALERT SERVICE
A new text alert service, Komeer, is being launched nationwide by An Garda Siochana. This will replace the current text alert system. Many communities, including ourselves, had issues with the last system. The Gardaí have assured us that they will be able to give updates much more quickly and frequently through Komeer. Further details will follow on the Parish Notes.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid.
