NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA GROUP

in association with Newtowncashel Drama Group Presents "An Ordinary Man" the excellent play, written and directed by John McDwyer  on Saturday the 8th of April in The Hill,Newtowncashel.

ST.MARY'S N.S.
St. Mary's N.S. will celebrate the last 50 years and the opening of the new extension with a reunion weekend and Fundraiser on the 11th, 12th, 13th August 2017. The main event,will be a Race Day,at the Kilbeggan evening race meeting on Saturday the 12th of August.Please keep this date in your diary.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Hard luck to our U16 draughts team of Joseph Kenny, Luke Mulvihill, Emma Casey, David Sweeney and Liam Martin who were narrowly defeated in Leinster final yesterday in Carlow.
They fought a great semi-final against the Westmeath winners, only to lose out in the final to Carlow Winners

JUNIOR CHOIR REHEARSALS FOR EASTER
The junior choir will sing at the Do This In Memory Mass on Holy Thursday and at Mass on Easter Sunday. Rehearsals for these Masses will be held in the church after Mass on Sunday April 2nd, Sunday April 9th, and after the 3pm Ceremonies on Good Friday.  Everyone is welcome!

GREAT NEWTOWNCASHEL BAKE FOR TEMPLE STREET
A cake sale and raffle will be held in The Hill in aid of the Great Irish Bake for Temple Street on Holy Saturday, April 15th, from 10.30am – 5.00pm.  Come along and support this worthy cause and pick up a tasty treat for Easter!! Donations of home-baked goods would be very welcome, and may be dropped off from 9.30am.  Your support would be greatly appreciated!

The waste bins in the village are not for domestic waste.

WEDDING
The wedding of David Hanley and Therese Kiernan took place on Saturday March 25th in The Church of the Immaculate Virgin Mary, Ballynarry, Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. David's bestman was his best friend Francis Gray and Therese's bridesmaid was her best friend, Siobhán Grogan. The mass was celebrated by Fr Frank Gray, former PP of Ballynarry, and con celebrated by Fr Brady, Fr Kenny, Fr Lennon and Fr O'Connor.
The page boy on the day was David's nephew, Senan Dermody and the flower girl was David's niece, Ailish Dermody. The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception in Lough Rynn Castle. The couple were blessed with glorious sunshine on their special day.  
Music in the church and at the reception was provided by Simon Casey. Music at the welcoming reception to the castle was provided by Teresa Donlon.
We join in wishing the happy couple,many years of health,wealth and happiness together.

WEDDING
The wedding took place of Martin Donlon, Derryshannogue and Riana-Marié  Grosskops ,on Saturday the 25th of March last,in Babylonstoren,,Stellenbosch South Africa.The Ceremony was celebrated by Rev.Wynand Olivier. Bridesmaid was Riana-Marié's sister,Madeline and Best Man was Shane Lenihan. Flower Girl was Sarah Donlon.

Poetry Workshop – Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival 5th-7th May 2017
As part of the Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival 5th-7th May 2017, a Poetry Workshop will take place on Saturday 6th May 2017 in The Old Schoolhouse, Ballymahon Road, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, at11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m., by Professor Iggy McGovern who published collections of poetry with Dedalus Press in 2005 and 2010.  Awards include the Hennessy Award for Poetry, The Ireland Chair of Poetry bursary and the Glen Dimplex Writers Award for Poetry.  His most recent publication in 2013 is a poetic biography of the 19th century Irish mathematician & Poet, William Rowan Hamilton.  Booking essential, maximum 20 places. PARISH MISSION
Cashel Parish Mission will take place from Monday the 24th tob friday the 28th of April. John Pridmore,ex-gangster and international bestselling Author  of the book ,'From Gangland to Promised Land, will be sharing his amazing story in our local church on Monday night the 24th of April at 8 .00 p.m.
He has been interviewed on RTE,BBC ,ITV, TV3, UTV ,  American TV,Australian TV ,and numerous daily papers and radio shows. John has worked with people such as St.Teresa of Calcutta and was a friend of St.John Paul II.

ADORATION
Eucharistic Adoration continues on Wednesdays from 3p.m. until 9p.m.
Also on Friday evening for a half hour after Mass from 8.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

EASTER CONFESSIONS
Confessions will be held for Easter,on Monday night the 10th of April at 8.30 p.m. in Cashel Church.
