Santa Claus will arrive at The Local in the Village at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday the 18th of December.If it's as good as last year,then it will be a wonderful family afternoon for all.
M.S. CHRISTMAS DAY RUN
The Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland is now in it's 26th year. Over the years it has raised much needed funds for Longford MS and last year over 140 walkers and runners took part. We are again asking for your continued support this year and hopefully we'll be able to further increase the number of participants and sponsorship for what is a very worthy cause. JUNIOR CHOIR
There will be a Junior Choir Practice ,this Sunday the 11th of
December,directly after 10.30 a.m. Mass. This practice,together with ones
on every Sunday, in Advent,at the same time,is in preparation for Christmas

DEATH
The death occurred of Tommy Carberry, Derryhaun last Tuesday the 29th of November.Tommy was one of life's great characters,who always had a smile and kind word for everybody that he met.A hardworking family man,Tommy enjoyed life to the full, and in particular ,he was very adept at the game of Darts.His sharp mind had the scores added up before most, and his skill at the game was brilliant.His sudden death sent shockwaves throughout the community of Newtowncashel and surrounding areas.His death will leave a tremendous void in the lives of al those who loved and knew him.To his wife wife Kathleen, son's. Patrick, Thomas and Michael, Daughters, Samantha, Patricia and Colette, Brothers, Frank and Bob, Sister's, Kathleen, Teresa, Rachel, Mary, Eileen, Elizabeth and Lena, and all his many friends and relatives,we extend our deepest sympathies in their time of loss and grief.May his Soul Rest in Peace.
