SANTA IN CASHEL
Last Sunday the Children and Parents were treated to a wonderful visit by Santa to The Local,in the Village.Santa arrived by pony and trap at 3.00 p.m and he had lots of goodies for all the kids.He chatted everyone and before he waved goodbye,he made sure to tell all the kids to be on their best behaviour in the coming weeks.Well done to Sile Gary and Santa and all his helpers for making this such a magical day for all .

FIBRE BROADBAND COMPETITION
Newtowncashel were unsuccessful in the recent Broadband Competition results announced by Eir on Thursday last. The eventual winners were Munterconnaught from Co Cavan who will benefit from a 250,000 euro investment in their fixed line broadband infrastructure. CHRISTMAS DAY RUN
It's that time of year again when preparations are beginning for the Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland. This is the 25th year of the event and over the course of that time approximately €180,000 has been raised for Longford MS. Last year 175 people took part and we're again asking for your continued support this year and hopefully we'll be able to further increase the number of participants and sponsorship for what is a very worthy cause.
