PANTO TIME
This year the students of Ballymahon Vocational School are performing "Mother Goose" on the 9th, 10th, 11th of December at 8:00pm.

G.A.A.
The A.G.M. of Cashel G.A.A. Club takes place in the Clubhouse on Saturday the 12th of December at 5.00 p.m.

SANTA IN CASHEL
Last Sunday the Children and Parents were treated to a wonderful visit by Santa to The Local,in the Village.Santa arrived by pony and trap at 3.00 p.m and he had lots of goodies for all the kids.He chatted everyone and before he waved goodbye,he made sure to tell all the kids to be on their best behaviour in the coming weeks.Well done to Sile Gary and Santa and all his helpers for making this such a magical day for all .

JUNIOR CHOIR
There will be a Junior Choir rehearsal this Saturday evening the 12th of December, in the Church at 5.00 p.m.

FIBRE BROADBAND COMPETITION
Newtowncashel were unsuccessful in the recent Broadband Competition results announced by Eir on Thursday last.  The eventual winners were Munterconnaught from Co Cavan who will benefit from a 250,000 euro investment in their fixed line broadband infrastructure.  In announcing the results, Eir  have acknowledged the effect of lack of access to proper broadband facilities in rural communities throughout Ireland and re-stated their commitment to 100% broadband rollout by 2020.  The organizing committee for the Newtowncashel submission would like to thank sincerely all the businesses, parish organisations, voluntary groups and individuals who contributed towards and help produce the application.  Further details are available on Fibrerollout.ie

CHRISTMAS DAY RUN
It's that time of year again when preparations are beginning for the Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland. This is the 25th year of the event and over the course of that time approximately €180,000 has been raised for Longford MS. Last year 175 people took part and we're again asking for your continued support this year and hopefully we'll be able to further increase the number of participants and sponsorship for what is a very worthy cause. Sponsorship cards will be available in the coming weeks and for further details and please contact Michael Flood (Tel: 086-0880855).

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting.  It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.  To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.  If you are interested contact Maeve Madden, VTOS Co-ordinator at  087 2050589.
