BENEFIT FUNCTION
There will be a Benefit Function for Patrick Mc Donagh,in The Local on Saturday night the 27th of February at 9.00p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Hard luck to our u13 boys who went down fighting to a stronger Killoe side in the u 13 futsal match on Saturday last. Our young team never gave up and their never say die attitude is to be commended & the future looks promising for this young side. Roll on next year. A huge thank you to all the lads for your dedication & commitment.

ICA
ICA are starting a health kick by organising a walking group on Saturday Mornings at 10am leaving from the hill newtowncashel.Walks start on Saturday 13th February.Everyone welcome.

CASH FOR CLOBBER
There will be a 'Cash for Clobber' clothing collection this Friday the 12th of February at St Mary's National School .Donations of textiles and footwear can be left inside the school gate or in the rear sheds before 9.30 a.m.

CONFIRMATION
The Ceremony of Light for the Confirmation Classtakes place on Thursday the 11th of February at 8.00 p.m. in the Church.

NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA STAGE 'THE FIELD'
Newtowncashel Drama Group are delighted to announce that this year's production will be 'The Field',a highly acclaimed masterpiece by playwright  John. B. Keane. The play will be staged on the first weekend of the of March,Friday the 4th,Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th.There will also be a performance on Friday the 11th of March.,These performances are twenty eight years on from it's first staging in 'The Hill with some of the original cast taking roles in this year's production..Further details to follow over the coming weeks.

SCÓR
Well done to our Scór Quiz team,from Cashel,who performed excellently ,when representing Longford in the National Finals which were held in Killarney recently.The team was Jamie Bermingham, Áine Bannon, Patrick Farrell and Brian Kelly,with thanks also to Mary Skelly for all her hard work with the team.The team came ninth overall.

SEVEN TREES FOR SEVEN SIGNATORIES
The Dept. of Environment have informed Newtowncashel Tidy Towns that because they were once winners of the National Award that they have been chosen to receive seven oak trees to commemorate the seven signatories of the Irish Proclamation.
The only condition is that this site must be in Public Ownership, or a piece of private ground that can be transferred to Public Ownership.
An information plaque will be erected on the site.

Cairde Beag enrolment is now open for September 2016 and with the introduction of the second free preschool year, meaning a child can avail of free preschool from the age of 3 years, places are very limited.  If your child was born between 1st January 2012 and 31st August 2013 then your child is eligible for free preschool in September.  I have 2 spaces left so if you or someone that you know has a child who is eligible but has not already booked them in then please contact me as soon as possible on 0863175753.

Learn about drawing, colour/painting and art appreciation.Please bring along sketching things, sketchpad, 2b – 5b pencils, willow charcoal, soft eraser, notebook, etc. It is hoped to plan an outing to The National Gallery in May.
