COFFEE MORNING
The recent Coffee Morning,in aid of Longford Hospice,raised €675. The organisers wish to thank all those who supported it,for their generosity.

DRAMA,
Newtowncashel Drama Group,are delighted to announce that this year's production will be  'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' by the internationally renowned Oscar winning playwright Martin Mc Donagh. This year marks the centenary of our Drama Group,and this year's production will be staged on the 16th,17th and 18th of November.

PASTORAL COUNCIL
Ballot papers will be distributed to parishoners in the coming days,to elect a new Parish Council.Please return your ballot on or before Sunday the 21st of October and place it in the Ballot Box in the Children's Room at the back of the Church.

I.C.A.
The ICA  ladies are starting keep fit classes on Tuesday 9th October at 8:30pm in The Hill. The cost is €8 per class. Suitable for all levels of fitness. Everyone welcome.

PIKE FISHING COMPETITION
Newtowncashel Angling Club hold their annual Open Pike Fishing Competition starting from Barley Harbour on Sunday the 4th of November,from 11am to 4 pm. Entry fee ic €100 per boat. There will ne €2500 in prize money; 1st prize €1000, 2nd prize €500, 3rd prize €400,4th prize €300, 5th prize €200, 6th prize €100. Places limited to 35 boats.

BORD NA MONA FOOTBALL TEAM REUNION
There will be a reunion of all players that played on any of the BNM  Mountdillon football teams down throughout the years,in St Faithleachs Clubhouse,on Saturday the 20th of October at 8.00 p.m.
This is an open invitation,and all ex players are cordially invited to attend. Over the years, the Mountdillon team won 9 All Ireland titles and an evening of nostalgia and great recollections is assured.RTE Correspondent Ciaran Mullooly will host,what promises to be a great evening. Refreshments will be served.

CASHEL G.A.A. GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
There will be a celebration of the 1968 Cashel Intermediate,Junior and Minor winning teams planned for early December.Further details later.

CLOTHES COLLECTION
St.Mary's National School clothing recycling collection takes place this Friday the 19th of October.Bags of unwanted clothes,footwear etc. (dry and clean) can be left at the staff car park or P.E. shed before 9.30 a.m. This is a valuable fundraiser and the school values your support.

TABLE QUIZ.
There will be a Table Quiz in The Pier/Rakish Paddy on Friday night the of 19th October, in aid of fundraising for a new MRI Scanner, for Mullingar Regional Hospital. Tables of 4 are €40.Raffle on the night.Refreshments will be served.Also,there will be a Concert in the parish hall,Lanesboro in aid of the fund,on Saturday the 27th of October.Full details next week.

FIBRE BROADBAND AT LAST FOR NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology will be laid along these routes by the end of 2018 and delivered to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.

MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
