NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA
Newtowncashel Drama's production of Jimmy Keary's 'Too Close to Home' played to packed audiences and was a tremendous success last weekend. Full report next week.

WEDDING
We extend our congratulations to Linda Cribben ,(Derrygowna) and Martin Curran,,who were married last weekend.

DEATH
The death occurred on Wednesday the 4th of March of John Hand ,Newpark
John was a true gentleman, who lived a full and long life. His devotion to the Church and God was ,together with his family, his main concern throughout his life. He was a lifelong Pioneer and his incredible popularity was in evidence by the large amount of people that turned out to pay their final respects to the man.
John was recently predeceased by his great-grandson Desmond. John passed away peacefully in the loving care of his family. We extend our deepest sympathies to  his loving family, wife Mary Ann, daughter Mary-Rose (Kenny),sons John, Tommy, Pauric and Gerard, brother Jim (U.S.A.), sister Teresa (Moran), son-in-law Brian, daughters-in-law Ann, Geraldine, Margaret and Geraldine, grandchildren Brian, Patrick, Róisín, Annmarie, Laura, Sarah, John, Dawn, Derek and Adrian, great-grandchildren Dylan, Sophia, Ciara, Sophie and Shannon, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Removal was on Saturday the 7th of March arriving at the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection was on Sunday the 8th of March at 12 noon,with  interment afterwards in St. John's Cemetery, Lanesboro.
May his Soul Rest in Peace.

FLOWER ARRANGING
Flower Arranging Class resumes in The Hill on Thursday 12th March at 7.30pm.

IRISH REVISION COURSE
An Honours Irish Leaving Cert Revision Course will take place in Longford town on Tuesday 31st March 10am-4pm

MONSTER AUCTION
Newtowncashel Community games are holding a Monster Auction at 1pm on Sunday 19th of April in the Hall in Newtowncashel. We will be using the funds raised to purchase much needed sports equipment in order for the children of the parish to be able to participate in Events and Activities.  Your support will be greatly appreciated and we hope you can help by donating something for sale on the day or purchasing a bargain.
We are looking for quality items such as Firewood, DIY and garden tools, Toys, Books, DVD’s, Paintings, Household Goods, Vouchers etc. to be auctioned on the day. All items considered.
We are also looking for Cakes, buns, jams, tarts etc. that can be sold separately.

STORYTELLING
Storytelling takes place every Saturday morning in Ballymahon Library at 11.30 a.m. All are welcome. Please call 090 64 32546 to book your place.
