BONFIRE NIGHT.
The Tidy Towns are reviving Bonfire night. It will take place in the Quarry Park on the 18th of June. A great nights programme has been put together. Starting with a Nature walk around Lough Slawn. Then Hans the story teller will arrive in his pony and trap. There will be bouncing castles, party games, a Fortune Teller, The Burgerman and a Licenced Bar by The Local.
A date to remember and a night you won't forget.

NEWTOWNCASHEL PLAYGROUND
We are nearing the final construction stage of our beautiful playground but as the grass seeds were sown last week,it is imperative that NO ONE enters the site for the next 3-4 weeks as walking on it will completely ruin all of the grass! We now urge all parents to warn their kids to please stay away until the attached signs are taken down off the gates and fencing! We have all waited such a long time for this facility so another month won't kill any of us but it will kill the grass!

COMMUNION DAY IN CASHEL
First Holy Communion was held in The Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel ,last Sunday the 8th of May.The occasion was complimented by glorious sunny weather,and every one had a great day.Thanks to all involved and special thanks to the Parent's association,who once again served up refreshments in The Hill, after the ceremony..

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.

The Walking Group continues on Saturday mornings leaving The Hill at 10.00 a.m. All are welcome.

CAIRDE BEG
Cairde Beag enrolment is now open for September 2016 and with the introduction of the second free preschool year, meaning a child can avail of free preschool from the age of 3 years, places are very limited.  If your child was born between 1st January 2012 and 31st August 2013 then your child is eligible for free preschool in September.  I have 2 spaces left so if you or someone that you know has a child who is eligible but has not already booked them in then please contact me as soon as possible on 0863175753.
