PARISH COUNCIL

VEGETABLE GARDEN
The Tidy Towns Committee in conjunction with St.Mary's National School started a vegetable garden last year at the School,which was a great success. They are looking for three parents to volunteer to teach the children how to plant it and maintain it..Please contact Mick Casey at 086 8289811.

DEATH
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Pauline Hynes (nee Mulvihill) Ballindreen,Galway and formerly of Newtowncashel who died last week.May her Soul Rest in Peace.

CPR COURSE

CES VACANCY
There is a community employment scheme vacancy available in the prize winning village of Newtowncashel.

FREE IT Training
in  your local community or at EDI Centre.
The Digital Skills course will be commencing again shortly.
Maximum of 10 participants per class so register your interested early as places fill up fast

PILATES
Pilates classes in the HILL NEWTOWNCASHEL every Thursday night at 8:.30. €60 for 6 weeks or €12 pay as you go. New members welcome.  

Bake Sale:
Rathcline Ladies GAA Club will be having hosting a Bake Sale on Saturday, 23 February at 8.00pm and Sunday, 24 February at 10.30am at The Hill in Newtowncashel to raise much needed funds for the club.  Your support for this much needed event would be greatly appreciated.

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.

MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
