IRISH CANCER SOCIETY
The Irish Cancer Society’s Care to Drive service is currently seeking volunteer drivers to drive local patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments. We are looking for volunteers to pick patients up at their homes, drive them to the door of the hospital, pick them up when they are finished their treatment and bring them home again. HARVEST FESTIVAL
The Harvest Festival will be held in Newtowncashel on Sunday the 23rd of August, commencing at 12.00 noon. This will be the festival's third consecutive visit to Newtowncashel, thanks to the availability and suitability of the site and the success of the event on the two previous occasions. Calling all ladies that would like to take part in the VHI mini marathon on June 1st to consider joining a local group of ladies walking / jogging in memory of baby Keela Geraghty. CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP
The Student Scholarship,sponsored by Ballymahon and District Credit Union is operational again this year. It is open to all Leaving Cert students attending the Vocational and Mercy Secondary Schools. The student must be completing a FÁS Apprenticeship, full time Certificate, Diploma or Degree course at any University, IT or approved third level college. All students who wish to enter the draw, must be a member of the Credit Union before the 31st of May 2015.The recipient of the Scholarship will receive €1000.00 per annum for a maximum of three years.
DEATH

All junior infants took part in a race and there were over 16 Toddlers in another race.
ROSARY.
Recitation of the Rosary has resumed and continues on Fridays at 7.30 p.m. All are welcome.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Last Sunday the 10th of May was First Holy Communion Day in Newtowncashel.Eleven children received the Blessed Eucharist for the first time The Mass at 12.00 noon replaced the scheduled Sunday Mass.Thanks to all involved for making this day so special for the kids and their families.
