CASHEL REACH COUNTY FINAL
We urge all Cashel people to come out to support the local football team,who play Kilashee in the County Intermediate Football Final,in Pearse Park,Longford,on Saturday the 25th of September.The team have played some great football,to reach this final,and we wish them the very best of luck,in their quest to bring back some silverware to our parish once again.

EXHIBITION
Extra added date due to success Friday 16th september 6-10pm
The Centenary Photographic Exhibition in The Hill,Newtowncashel is back due to success of previous dates.Proceed of Admission and Photo Sales are being given to two local children,Rosie and Patrick, to help with Autism and Leukaemia.. Admission is €5.00 per adult,Children are free.

HELL AND BACK
Well done to the 45 brave individuals,who put themselves through the Hell and Back course at Kilruddery House in Bray last Saturday the 10th of August.The aim of this was to raise funds for the Mater Hospital Heart Unit and despite some minor bruises and sore bodies a great day was had by all.
Special word must go to both Paul and Brenda Egan,for once doing such a professional job in organising the event.

SEAN NOS DANCING CLASSES
Classes  for children  will commence on Tuesday 20th September at 4.15 pm in The Hill in Newtowncashel.
Under 6 years –4.30—5.00
6—9 years        5.00---5.30
9—12  years     5.30---6.00
A teenage class can be arranged should there be a demand for it.
Classes are for boys and girls.

SETT DANCING CLASSES
Classes will commence on Tuesday 20th September in St. Failtheachs GAA club house at 8pm.
Classes are suitable for beginners and you dont need a partner.
Come along and get fit while having fun.

COFFEE DAY
A Coffee Day in aid of Longford Hospice will be held in The Hill,on this Thursday the 15th of September from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Your kind support would be appreciated.

WEDDING
We extend our congratulations to both Barry Donlon and Jennifer Michele Jahns who were married last Saturday the 10th of September.We wish the couple many years of health,wealth and happiness together.

DEATH
The death occurred on Thursday the 8th of September last, of Kathleen Connaughton(nee Shea),Cullentra.Kathleen was in her 93rd year ,when she passed away and was a tyrue lady,who always had a kind word and a smile for all those that she met.,Beloved wife of the late Thomas,she will be sadly  missed by her loving family. To her daughters Breda Moran,Olive McAuley (Antrim) and Ann McKernan (Tyrone), sons Thomas ((Gerry) (Monaghan)) and Padraig, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, niece, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends,we extend our deepest sympathies.May her Soul Rest in Peace.

TOURISM WITH BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
Looking for a career focused course? Then enrol on Longford College of Further Education’s 1 year Tourism with Business programme starting September 2016. Ireland is going through a tourism regeneration with employment potential from Center Parcs and from initiatives such as The Wild Atlantic Way, The Greenway Cycle Project and Ireland’s Ancient East project. The course offers practical business skills for the workplace as well as accreditation from Quality Qualifications Ireland and awards up to 400 CAO points for progression to third level institutions. This course is free to those in receipt of BTEA or who qualify for a SUSI grant* and to holders of a medical card. The registration fee and government levy is €330 for all other students. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment.You dont need to be a farmer to join.

The Walking Group continues on Saturday mornings leaving The Hill at 10.00 a.m. All are welcome.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
