DRAMA,
To mark the centenary of our Group,Newtowncashel Drama Group presents   'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' by the internationally renowned Oscar winning playwright Martin Mc Donagh, on the Friday 16th,Saturday 17th and  Sunday 18th of November,in The Hill,Newtowncashel. Admission €10 and Secondary School students €5. (As the play contain an adult theme,Parental Guidance Recommended.,)Doors open at 8.00 pm  Curtain at 8.30 pm.Admission by ticket only. BEST WISHES
We extend best wishes and and enjoyable retirement to Jack Farrell,Caltra,who retired from his position in Cashel Tidy Towns,after many years of hard work and dedication to our lovely village and indeed our wider parish. Jacks' tremendous hard work was justly rewarded in 2011 when he was nominated for Longford Person of the Year,which he went on to win,a thorughly deserved reward. His suggestions and vision,for exceptional projects,while he was on the committee,bore testament to his love of the parish. We wish you well in your retirement Jack.

SCHOOL SUCCESS
Well done to the St.Mary's National School Mixed football team who won their Football Final last week against  Aughnagarron N.S.,in Longford Slashers Football complex Farneyhoogan, with the final scoreline  being 4-12 t0 5-6 , This was  a brilliant display and indeed result for both the team and mentors.After the game,all retired to McDonalds,where the kids were treated and then there was a parade through the Village of Cashel amid great scenes of celebration. Well done to Emmet Murtagh,who after a tremendous individual display,received Man of the Match.Finally well done to both Declan Fox and Jack Healy,the team mentors,who put so much hard work into ensuring the well deserved success.

Eucharistic Adoration continues on Wednesday 3pm-9pm and Friday 8.30 pm to 9pm.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN CASHEL
Following a meeting recently,it was decided to put up a Christmas Tree in the village of Newtowncashel, this Christmas.Due to the initial costs,we intend to put lights on a small number of trees also.If you would like to help,or make a small contribution,we would be delighted,as we think it would be great for our Village.. There is already significant progress on the project,so anyone interested,or have any ideas ,please do come along to our next meeting in The Local on Wednesday the 14th  November at 8.30 p.m.

PIONEER MASS
The Annual Regional Pioneer Mass takes place on Friday the 16th of November in The church of The Blessed Virgin,Newtowncashel,at 8 pm. Fr.Merlyn Kenny,our parish priest,will preside at the Mass.Fr.Merlyn was appointed  Spiritual Director of Longford Pioneer Region some years ago.So we hoping for a big turnout of Pioneers,from our parish as well as from our region at this Mass.After the Mass,everyone is invited to The GAA Clubhouse,down the road,for a cup of tea and a chat.The local hall.The Hill, is not available on the night,as the Drama Group are putting on their play.

FIBRE BROADBAND AT LAST FOR NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology will be laid along these routes by the end of 2018 and delivered to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
