NATURE WALK  
The annual nature walk takes place on Saturday the 18th of June.Primary School Children start at 7:00 pm from Derrydarragh. Under-16’s and Adults start at 7:00 pm from “The Hill”. All finish at The Local. Participants are asked to write their names on reverse of cards which should be handed in at “The Hill”. Cards or cash cannot be accepted at Derrydarragh. Phone credit, €40, €20 and €10, for 1st, 2nd and 3rd highest INDIVIDUAL sponsorship collected by Primary School Participants. Adult participants will be included in a draw for prizes. All prizes for adults, and Children, will be presented afterwards. Kids Bouncy Castle will be at The Local..

MASS
Evening Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. ,this Saturday the 18th of June,to facilitate the Tidy Towns Special Event.

BONFIRE NIGHT.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The Tidy Towns are reviving Bonfire night. It will take place on Saturday the 18th of June, at The Local,after the nature Walk. A great nights programme has been put together. Hans the story teller will arrive in his pony and trap. The famous psychic John King will be in attendance. There will be music, bouncing castles, party games, The Burgerman and a Licenced Bar by The Local. A date to remember and a night you won't forget.

VACANCY
There is a vacancy for a Fas worker at the local GAA Club Grounds. Anyone interested in the post,please contact Club Secretary Bernie Farrell on 087 9262975. Or any member of the Executive

CASHEL G.A.A.
Cashel GAA volunteers will be in your area in the coming weeks in relation to Cashel GAA Night at the Dogs Admission/Draw tickets. Fun night at the Races in Mullingar Greyhound Stadium for all the family with a chance to win €1000 for every Adult ticket purchased.Tickets are €20 each. Your support is greatly appreciated.

DEATH
WE extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Bernie Dowd,late of Fortwilliam,who died in London recently. May her Soul Rest in Peace.

WEDDING
We extend our congratulations to both Daniel Casey,Lisnagan and Genevieve Butler,who were married  in St.Mel's Cathedral on Saturday the 4th of June last.We wish the couple many years of health ,wealth and  happiness together.

THE 7 TREE CEREMONY                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The unveiling and blessing of the 7 trees and stone with the 7 signatories of the Proclamation will take place on June 22nd on the school grounds. The school concert takes place from   1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and directly after, this small ceremony will take place. Tommy Murray who played the angry bishop form The Field play, will read the Proclamation. All are welcome. Be part of history.

PLAYGROUND
The new kids playground beside the Quarry Park,is now open.Congrats to all involved on such a wonderful achievement.

CAIRDE BEG
Cairde Beg open day is on Wednesday the 22nd of June at 9.30am. Until 12,30 pm. All children enrolled for next September are welcome to come along
With the introduction of the second free preschool year, meaning a child can avail of free preschool from the age of 3 years, places are very limited.  If your child was born between 1st January 2012 and 31st August 2013 then your child is eligible for free preschool in September.  I have 2 spaces left so if you or someone that you know has a child who is eligible but has not already booked them in then please contact me as soon as possible on 0863175753.

DERRAHAUN DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIAION
The 1916 Garden of Rememberance official unveiling will take place on Sunday the 19th of June 2016 at 3pm   In Derryhaun. All residents,past and present of Derryhaun and surrounding areas are invited to attend

WALKING GROUP
The Walking Group continues on Saturday mornings leaving The Hill at 10.00 a.m. All are welcome.

TRIP
A trip to the Fr.Patrick Peyton Memorial  Centre ,Atytymass,Co.Mayo  will take place on Tuesday the 26th of July 2016.  The cost is €30  including refreshments,lunch and entertainment, Coach departs Kenagh at 9.00 a.m.,returning at 6.00 p.m. approx..To secure a place,please contact Rose Egan,kenagh,by post including contact details and payment.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
