COFFEE MORNING
Longford Hospice Home Care are holding a coffee morning in The Hill this Thursday the 17th of September from 10am to 5pm,Support would be greatly appreciated.

THE LOCAL
There will be both Pool and Darts tournaments commencing in October,please contact Sile or Gary,either by Facebook ,or in the Pub itself,to take part. Ireland kick off their Rugby World Cup journey this Saturday at 2.30 p.m.Refreshments will be served,together with a chance to win a free pint. The All Ireland Football Final kicks off at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday,with Ocean's Eleven playing afterwards We now have a bonus ball draw running every week.Buy a line for €2.00 for a chance to win €94.00.

TIDY TOWNS
The local Tidy Towns Committee have recieved four tickets for the Helix,Dublin on Monday the 28th of September-when the results for the Tidy Towns will be announced . We wish the committee every success in this year's competition.

TRACTOR RUN
The Darren McGlynn Memorial Tractor Run from Rooskey/Tarmonbarry ,will take place on September 27th.

BROADBAND
The local committee set up to enter Eircom's Broadband supply competition, hold a meeting in The Hill this thursday night ar 8.30 p.m. The submission is coming along nicely and should be completed in the coming weeks.

WELL DONE
Congratulations to  our neighbours, Rathcline on winning the Intermediate Football Championship last weekend.Hard luck to Kilashee who were the defeated finalists.

SET DANCING
Set Dancing classes on Tuesday 15th in Sorohans Ballyleague and in John Brownes  Longford on Wed 16th --8-10pm.
All  are welcome . Beginners welcome to try for the first two weeks , with a view to starting a complete beginners class. A great way to get fit,keep fit , have fun, make new friends in a very happy , enjoyable atmosphere.

BOXING CLUB
Lanesborough Boxing Club reopened  on Monday night next 07 Sep 15 last  in the Lough Ree Resource Building (old convent) Main Street Lanesborough and continues on Mondays and Thursdays from 7.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.. Meet every Tuesday and Friday evening at 7:00 pm at "The Hill".
Routes and distances to cater for all cyclists. Helmets compulsory.

CASHEL ON IRISH T.V.

WALKING JOGGING
Walking / jogging groups - Every Tuesday and Thursday nights at 9 pm from 'The Local'. Everybody welcome.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting.  It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.  To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.  If you are interested contact Maeve Madden, VTOS Co-ordinator at  087 2050589.  

SWIMMING LESSONS
