We extend congratulations to both Brid Killian and James Hanley who were married on Friday last the 4th of October
Maid of honor was Barbara Melia and Bridesmaids were Geraldine Killian and Linda Merrigan. Best man was John Hanley and Groomsmen were Kevin Hanley and Alan Hanley. Page boy was Tiernan Hanley, son of the bride and groom. Mass was in Church of The Blessed Virgin,Newtowncashel , Fr Michael Murtagh wed the happy couple and Reception afterwards was in the Hodson Bay

BOXING SUCCESS
We extend congratulations to  boxer Culainn Sheedy , from Saint's Island who won  a Gold Medal for Ireland in the recent International Celtic Cup..This was a tremendous achievement and well done to Culainn.

FISHING COMPETITION
Cashel Angling Club hold their Annual Monster Pike Fishing Competition on November the 3rd 2019 at Barley Harbour. Places limited to 30 boats.  €2500 in prize money. First Prize €1000 , Second Prize €500 Third Prize€400 Fourth  Prize €300., Fifth Prize €200, Sixth Prize €100.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Once again it is time to be thinking ahead towards Christmas Lights for our beautiful Village.
A Halloween Scavenger Hunt  will be held on Sunday 27th of October   This Hunt will be done by car , around the parish and registration will take place at 4pm at The Local.
€20 Entrance Fee. This includes BBQ Vouchers for all passengers. Successful Scavengers will be entered into a draw. All monies raised will go towards Village Christmas Lights. Music afterwards by Pub Fiction. Please support.

A Blitz of Glitz and Glamour:
Cashel G4M&Os host a ladies night in The Local Newtowncashel on Saturday October 19th at 8pm. The night will involve a series of 10
Minute talks with tips from experts in the world of hair, makeup, health and fitness. Tickets are priced at €10 with all proceeds going to the Ollie Cox Injury Fund. All tickets bought will be entered into a draw with fantastic prizes including a hotel night away, a spa day and many vouchers. COMMUNITY GAMES
The AGM of Newtowncashel CG takes place on Thursday the 18th of October in the GAA clubhouse at 8pm. As many parents as possible are invited to attend.
The CG Golden Jubilee Gala Awards takes place on Fri the 19th October in the Longford Arms Hotel. Tickets are €25 and are available from any member of the committee. To mark 50 years of CG in Longford Newtowncashel Area committee have nominated the late Mattie Reid as our area recipient. We would love as many people as possible from Cashel to turn up on the night to honour Mattie's achievements in Community Games.
