PARENTS ASSOCIATION
Well done to the St.Mary's National School Parent's Association on having such a successful and enjoyable Disco and Santa's Grotto in The Hilll last Sunday.There was a great turnout and both parents and kids alike had a wonderful day...Well done to all involved.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Congratulations to Grainne O Shea-Moynihan on being recently appointed Commercial and Marketing Manager with Community Games Ireland recently.

DEATH
We extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Kathleen Clyne(nee Cunningham,formerly of Loughawn,who died on Wednesday the 9th of December last,in Perth,Australia. May her Soul Rest in Peace.

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT
The recently appointed members of the School Board of Management, will have their first meeting this Wednesday December the 16th in the School at 8.00 p.m. The members of the Board are as follows;
Bishop's Nominees;Fr Merlyn Kenny and Teresa Victory Farrell(Chairperson.)
Parent's Representatives;Joseph Mulvihill and Yvonne Kenny.
Community Representatives;Margaret Brennan and Gerry Bohan.
Staff representatives;Marie Fallon(Secretary) and Sinead Stenson.

CHRISTMAS DAY RUN
It's that time of year again when preparations are beginning for the Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland. This is the 25th year of the event and over the course of that time approximately €180,000 has been raised for Longford MS. Last year 175 people took part and we're again asking for your continued support this year and hopefully we'll be able to further increase the number of participants and sponsorship for what is a very worthy cause. Sponsorship cards will be available in the coming weeks and for further details and please contact Michael Flood (Tel: 086-0880855).

A vacancy for a FAS worker exists in Newtowncashel.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge. To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment. If you are interested contact Maeve Madden, VTOS Co-ordinator at 087 2050589.
