COMMUNITY GAMES
Our very own Olympics was held last weekend,with the All Ireland Community Games ,which was held in Athlone. Representing Longford ,from Cashel was our U16 draught team of Eoin Mulvihill, Brian Kelly, Emma Casey, David Sweeney, Joseph Kenny and Luke Mulvihill. Art : Lily Murray and Luke Mulvihill and Mixed distance relay Alanna Flood.The Draughts team came fourth overall,a tremendous result.Special thanks to John Mulvihill who helped so much with the team's preparation .We thank all our other competitors from Cashel ,who have done our parish proud by representing us on the National Stage.Special thanks to Christy Hopkins and all the Committee for their trojan work all year.

EXHIBITION
There will be a Centenary Photographic Exhibition in The Hill,Newtowncashel on Saturday the 3rd, from 6 to 10 p.m., and Sunday the 4th of September from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceed of Admission and Photo Sales are being given to two local children,Rosie and Patrick, to help with Autism and Leukaemia.. CORLEA ENVRIONNMENTAL AWARENESS DAY
As part of the Natural Heritage week,on Saturday the 27th of August,an environmental awareness/bioblitz event will take place at Corlea Visitor Centre with lots of interesting events for young and old.It all kicks off at 2.00 p.m. and runs until late.Feel free to drop in at any stage,and all events are free of charge.Events may also be weather dependent. CEMETERY SUNDAYS
Following a recent meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council,it was decided to have Cemetery Sunday Masses, for both Cashel and Saint's Island,at 12.00 noon this year. However due to a clash with Cashel Gun Club's annual County Shoot,the Mass for Saints Island Cemetery, is changed to 11.00 a.m., Please note this change of time. The Mass in Cashel Cemetery remains at 12.00 noon.
