BASKETBALL SUCCESS
Well done to the u-11 Mixed and the U-16 Boys Community Games teams from Newtowncashel who both won their respective County Finals in Kenagh last weekend.They are now through to the Leinster Finals and well done to all including their coaches John Morrissey and Joe Mulvihill, and the Cashel Community Games Committee.
Also well done to Sadie Boardman,who took Gold in her swimming event.A tremendous achievement indeed.

PASTORAL COUNCIL.
A Parish Pastoral Council meeting will be held on Thursday the 21st of March at 8 p.m.

VEGETABLE GARDEN
The Tidy Towns Committee in conjunction with St.Mary's National School started a vegetable garden last year at the School,which was a great success.
We are looking for any three volunteers as we didn't have anyone volunteer help so far. We wont be able to continue with the project unless we get some help. Please contact Mick Casey at 086 8289811.

MIDLAND RALLY IN CASHEL
Midland Moto stages Rally takes place on Sunday 24 Th March.This years rally is the 2nd round of the Triton National Rally championship as well as the 2nd round of the Midlands East championship and is the 1 st round of the Sligo Pallets Border championship so we are having competitors from all over the country as well as UK,Scotland,Wales and the USA.Our thanks to Longford Co Council,the residents on the route and all volunteers who help to run this event .The Rally will pass through areas of Lisrevagh,Thureen,Lisnacusha,Newpark,Clonmee,Greenhall,Lightfied and Caltra

MERCY SECONDARY FOOTBALL
We extend congratulations to the Mercy Secondary School Ballymahon Senior Girls Football Team,who by virtue of their 2-14 to 2-11 victory over St.Nathy's last week,are now through to the All Ireland Final.Best wishes to the team and local representative,Ciara Healy.
Also,hard luck to the Senior Boys Football team who were defeated in the All Ireland Semi Final last week.Our Cashel representatives on the team were Jamie Bermingham,Lochlann Healy and Brian Kelly.
Also congratulations to our own Gary Kenny,who is Vice Principal of the School and a driving force behind the teams success.

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.

Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.
