TUG OF WAR IN CASHEL
Newtowncashel playground committee hold a fundraiser on Sunday 1st May at 2.30pm with tug of war, BBQ, family fun day and music by Andy Feery in The Local that evening! We are nearing the final stages of our community playground so this is the final push to having a beautiful facility on our doorstep! Your support would be greatly appreciated!

DEATH
The death occurred of Peter Carberry,No 1 Derryhaun,on Thursday the 14th of April last. Pete was a renowned Uileann piper,and his love of all things Irish was very strong. He was a true gentleman,who had a kind word for all those who knew him.His passing will leave a great void in the lives of all those who knew him.To his and all his family and friends we extend our deepest sympathy.Removal took place on , Saturday,the 16th of April, to the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtown Cashel with Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial was afterwards in Clonbonny Cemetery,Lanesboro.May his Soul Rest in peace.
FASHION SHOW
Fashion show in The Standing Stone hotel, Ballinamore, on Friday, 22nd April at 8.30pm.
Fantastic variety of suppliers include Fashionista, Gerard Anthony, Ruche, Purple Orange, Carrie Bradshaw shoes, Jennifer Wrynne Hats. Raffle and entertainment by McCartin School of IRISH Dancing. Proceeds to Aughawillan GAA club. Tickets €10.

Cairde Beag enrolment is now open for September 2016 and with the introduction of the second free preschool year, meaning a child can avail of free preschool from the age of 3 years, places are very limited. If your child was born between 1st January 2012 and 31st August 2013 then your child is eligible for free preschool in September.
