SANTA 5K FUN RUN
St.Mary's National School Parent's Association are holding a Santa 5K Fun Run on Sunday the 8th of December.
Registration from 2 to 2.30 pm
Race starts at 2.30 pm.
Adults €10
Children €5
Family €20
Route from Village to Claras Crossroads and back to the Village.
Sponsorship cards will be available to all children attending St.Mary's N.S.  Children who return Sponsorship Cards will have free entry into 5K .Also if a child returns €20 or more they will also receive a free entry t-shirt. A family that returns €50 or more on it's sponsorship card will recieve free entry for the children of the family plus a free event t-shirt for each child.Santa arrives at the Hill at 3.pm followed by switching on of Village Christmas Lights.
Don't forget your Santa Hats, Outfits and Christmas Jumpers.!

DEATH
The death occurred of Joe Mulvihill , The Brow, Cross last Saturday the 16th of November.
Joe was a true gentleman who was blessed with great wisdom and whenever one was in his company you were always in awe of his grasp of whatever the conversation was about.
He was passionate about many things, but his family and the parish of Cashel was always his priority
A hardworking man all his life, Joe was  gifted and talented and whatever job he took on was done with total professionalism and care.
He had a great sense of humour, and there was always a twinkle in his eye when discussing any situation.
His passing will leave a great void in the lives of all those that loved and knew him.
To his by his wife and best friend Teresa (Tess), sons Joseph and Brian, daughters-in-law Gráinne and Margaret, grandchildren Seoighe, Zara, Josh, Bláithín and Seosamh, sister Bridget (Bridie), brother-in-law Frank Hynes (Galway), sisters-in-law Mona (UK) and Kathleen, nephews, nieces and all his many friends, we extend our deepest sympathies
May his Soul Rest in Peace.

DRAMA GROUP
Following on from a very successful 2018-2019 season Newtowncashel Drama Group have rehearsals currently underway underway for their spring 2020 production. They are delighted to welcome some debutants on stage this year to accompany their experienced members  Stay tuned to local notes and social media channels for more exciting updates.

DEATH
The death occurred of Michael (Micksey)Carley,Portanure on Tuesday last the 12th of November  
Micksey was a quiet unassuming gentleman, who always greeted you with a smile.
Micksey's death will leave a great void in the lives of all those that loved and knew him
To his wife Margaret, stepchildren Sharon, Sean and Colleen, sister Mary, brother Brendan, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, relatives, neighbours and many friends, we extend our deepest sympathies.
May his soul Rest in Peace.

SUBMISSIONS
In relation to the Bord na Mona/ESB recent announcements Lanesboro Ballyleague  Collaboration Group met with 3 Government Ministers on Monday last week As a consequence, we have to draw up a strategic plan. The death occurred of Des Eustace  formerly Newtowncashel  and De Beers Shannon ,on Friday the 15th of November last
His passing will leave a void in all those that loved and knew him.
To his daughter Sheila and son Simon  son-in-law Chris, his granddaughters Laura, Ciara, Emma and Sorcha, his grandsons Aidan, Kieran and Ryan, his brother Gerry, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. we extend our deepest sympathies

CONCERT
Ballymahon Community Gardai present The Band of An Garda Siochana in Concert at St. Matthews Church Ballymahon on Sunday the 15th of December 2019 at 3pm.  All proceeds in aid of Ballymahon Convent Day Care Centre.  Followed by Afternoon Tea and free raffle with fantastic prizes.  Tickets ten euro.  Phone:  086-8282257.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN CASHEL
It's that time of year again when we begin putting up our Christmas Lights. As was seen last year, our first year, we managed to light a large area of our Village
We would like to extend our lights this year, so we are seeking donations, no matter how small from groups or individuals.
To date we have spent over €2000 on lights, so we would appreciate any financial help in order to put lights in all the village Please contact any member of the group in order to make your contribution.
Th Lights group is as follows;
John Kenny, Diarmuid Walsh, Liam Finnegan, Anita Finnegan, Debbie Brogan, Karl Brogan, Helen Hassett, Tommy Hassett, Sheila Mulvihill, Gary Mulvihill, Grainne Moynihan, Ray Moynihan, Mick Casey Tomas Shea.
There will also be a Churchgate Collection for Newtowncashel Christmas Lights, this weekend, Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of November.Your donations would be greatly appreciated.

Newtowncashel Community Games held  a  very successful Table Quiz in The Local last  Saturday night the 16th of November

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid.
