BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE
To mark the centenary of ,Newtowncashel Drama Group presentsed  'The Beauty Queen of Leenane' by the internationally renowned Oscar winning playwright Martin Mc Donagh, last Friday 16th,Saturday 17th and  Sunday 18th of November,in The Hill,Newtowncashel.This was a wonderful performance from all concerned.Martin Mc Donagh himself would be proud of the fantastic directing and acting,with the set ,sound and lighting ,and make up department etc. all of the highest standards.This was an incredible team effort and well done to all involved.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN CASHEL
The Christmas Lights group are making steady progress with having lights on a limited basis, for this year ,in the Village of Newtowncashel. A tree has been secured from Coillte at a substantial discount, and Ballymahon Lights Committee has generously donated 6 wreaths and cables to our cause. However,lights still need to be bought and a Credit Union a/c is being set up to finance all, with a view to having a better set up next Christmas.

We intend to turn on the lights on the evening of the 9th of December, after Santa arrives in the Village and the Parents Association Santa Run earlier in the day..

SOUTHERN GAELS
Southern Gaels hold their AGM in Killashee Clubhouse on Friday December the 7th at 8pm. They need a lot of parents to help out with many small jobs,so please do come along and join up.

CONCERN FAST
The Concern annual fast and Church gate collection takes place on Dec 8th and 9th. Once again your support would be appreciated. Volunteers would be appreciated

TABLE QUIZ
Lanesboro/Ballyleague Badminton Club are holding their annual Table Quiz on Saturday the 1st of December in Clarke's Bar in Lanesboro at 9pm, so grab a team and join us.

FIBRE BROADBAND AT LAST FOR NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology will be laid along these routes by the end of 2018 and delivered to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.

MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
