CHRISTMAS WISHES
We take this opportunity to wish all those from the Parish of Cashel,either at home or indeed abroad,a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.We welcome home all those that have returned to the parish ,and we also are thinking of those that have lost loved ones over the past year .We hope it's a time where you can relax with family and friends and of course we hope that Santa looks favourably upon you all ...Happy Christmas.

M.S. CHRISTMAS DAY RUN
The Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland is now in it's 26th year. Over the years it has raised much needed funds for Longford MS and last year over 140 walkers and runners took part. We are again asking for your continued support this year and hopefully we'll be able to further increase the number of participants and sponsorship for what is a very worthy cause. Sponsorship cards are available in the Local or O'Briens in Lanesborough or for further details please contact Michael Flood (Tel: 086-0880855).

TRAD SESSION
There will be a Trad Session in Newtowncashel ,on Friday 23rd Dec ,at 9.30pm, .Free raffle on the night, .Prize for best Christmas jumper!

CHRISTMAS MASS IN CASHEL
This Year Christmas Eve Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 p.m in the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel. PLEASE NOTE TIME. On Christmas Day, Mass will be celebrated at 10: 30 a.m. This is a very special time of year and you are encouraged to make a special effort to attend our Church celebrations as a community.
A Reconciliation Service takes place in Cashel Church on Wednesday the 21st of Decemberat 7.00 p.m.

NEW ARRIVAL
We extend congratulations to both Bríd Killian and James Hanley,on the birth of their baby boy ,Tiernan,recently.

SYMPATHY
We extend our deepest sympathy to Charmaine O' Shea,and all the family and friends of Chairmaine's aunt, Phyllis Dowler ,who passed away last week.May her Soul Rest in Peace.

FIRESIDE TALES
Copies of Jude Flynn's Fireside Tales are now available through the usual outlets.This annual production,is lovely compilation of stories and pictures,which would make an ideal gift.

SETT DANCING CLASSES
Classes commenced on Tuesday 20th September in St. Failtheachs GAA club house at 8pm.
Classes are suitable for beginners and you dont need a partner.
Come along and get fit while having fun.

SEAN NOS DANCING CLASSES
Classes for children commenced on Tuesday 20th September at 4.15 pm in The Hill in Newtowncashel.
Under 6 years –4.30—5.00
6—9 years 5.00---5.30
9—12 years 5.30---6.00
A teenage class can be arranged should there be a demand for it.
Classes are for boys and girls.

ART CLASSES
Art classes in Ballymahon are to re-commence in October with Tutor Frances Kelleher. Beginners classes on Tuesday mornings and Improvers in the evenings, time to be decided. TOURISM WITH BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
Looking for a career focused course? Then enrol on Longford College of Further Education’s 1 year Tourism with Business programme starting September 2016. Ireland is going through a tourism regeneration with employment potential from Center Parcs and from initiatives such as The Wild Atlantic Way, The Greenway Cycle Project and Ireland’s Ancient East project. The course offers practical business skills for the workplace as well as accreditation from Quality Qualifications Ireland and awards up to 400 CAO points for progression to third level institutions. This course is free to those in receipt of BTEA or who qualify for a SUSI grant* and to holders of a medical card. The registration fee and government levy is €330 for all other students. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
