Poetry composed by 4th 5th 6th classes to celebrate 'Celebrity Bainisteoir'
Bainisteoir Bainisteoir
At school we skip and sing, we say bainisteoir bainisteoir, turn around, bainisteoir bainisteoir say your name. "Newtowncashel".
Cashel Bainisteoir
Something for everyone
In Cashel G.A.A
Come along and cheer for us
On our special day
We have a great Prunty Pitch
And many people who
Care for it
R.T.E have chosen us
For Celebrity Bainisteoir
We really are a privileged bunch
Banners bunting and flags galore
When the Bainisteoir is revealed
We will send up a
Mighty roar
Come on the lads in
Red and Black
Bring back the cup
And we’ll have the crack
In the future it will be the
Greatest team
To play on it will
Be a special dream.
Celebrity Bainisteoir
GAA is a fun thing to do,
We do it with Donal that is so cool,
We don’t give out we don’t pick a fight
We will keep going all through the night.
GAA is a fun thing to do,
We do it on Sundays with a trainer or two,
Its great fun for fitness, and memories too,
For skills and fun that’s what we do.
GAA is really fun
It is really the best sport in the world.
You should play it with your friends
But go by the rules and then you will
Be our number one player.
Fitness, memories and skills too,
This is all the stuff we do,
We throw up the ball the game begins,
After all that training now we should win.
It’s not all about winning
But still we like to be a little competitive,
At the end of the day whether on the field
Or as a sub everyone has something to give.
Hello Bainisteoir how are you,
We hope you enjoy the lovely view.
Bainisteoir, Bainisteoir help us to win.
We’ll bring back the cup and you’ll be our
King
Hurray For The Boys
Dominic and John,
Will cheer the boys on.
The Bainisteoir, here he comes!
Let’s go out and have some fun!
The GAA is really cool.
Our Cashel boys are set to rule!
Hopefully we’ll have the sun
To keep the boys on the run.
In school Donal comes.
If in goals, watch your thumbs!
When on the school team,
It really makes us beam!
We’re on the summer hols
But we won’t forget
The 22nd of July
For the Bainisteoir we’re set.
We’ll gather at the pitch
With yelping and noise
And we’ll shout out…
Hurray For The Boys!
Celebrity Bainisteoir
When we heard Celebrity Bainisteoir was coming to Cashel
Our first thoughts were what, where and why
Then we heard that special date the 22nd of July
Imagine all the cameras coming and focusing on the team
They’re not used to all this attention
Even though we know it’s their dream
We have the trophy in the bag
We know we’re going to win
We’re going to beat everyone including Dublin
Were going to win with Foy scoring 3 or 4
Then we’ll win the championship for sure
Newtowncashel is the best
Our village is ahead of the rest
On Sunday mornings
We have training and craic
And go for an ice cream after that
Celebrity Bainisteoir is coming in July
So come and support us and don’t be shy
Hopefully Shane Merrigan will
Bring us the fame and score
Some points hip hip hooray
Wear jersey and kits
When you come to support
When you come to support it will be
Great sport
The referees and umpires will be
Very fair but as long as we win
We won’t really care
Red and Black
Football is our passion, we play it with pride
We have spirit and skill on our side
Our aim is to play as a team and score
We will impress the Celebrity Bainisteoir
So let us all shout out for the boys in red and black
And hope it’s the title our boys will bring back
The Banisteoir
The boys in red and black, are ready to attack,
With the help of a Bainisteoir, we’ll be able to do more. We’ll never lack in effort, don’t worry we’ll try our best, It doesn’t matter who we play,
From either east or west.
The atmosphere will be glorious and we will be victorious.
Here we are at the game Gary Kenny scores,
All the supporters roar,
And many other players will score three or more,
The final whistle blows, through the gates the people flow.
Off we go to Parnell, where we’ll surely get the gold.
It’s great to have this honour.
The parish will explode!
