Science Week Activities
November 16, 2015
Last week there were plenty of activities going on in school for Science week.
3rd & 4th Class did an experiment using bread soda, vinegar a balloon and a bottle.
The baking soda and the vinegar create an ACID-BASE reaction and the two chemicals work together to create a gas, (carbon dioxide) Gasses need a lot of room to spread out and the carbon dioxide starts to fill the bottle, and then moves into the balloon to inflate it.
They were so impressed with the results that they invited 1st & 2nd class in to see it.
1st & 2nd Class were looking at static electricity & experimented using pens and small pieces of paper.
5th & 6th class were baking using the new cooker.  There was a great smell coming from the staff room.
