CEMETERY SUNDAYS
Cashel Cemetery Sunday takes place this Sunday the 28th of August. Mass will commence at 12.00 noon.
This Mass will replace the 10.30 a.m. Mass in the Church.Please keep area nearest Cemetery,free for disabled parking.
All stewards,please assemble at the Cemetery,at 11.00 a.m. ,one hour before commencement.
A collection will be held,with all proceeds going towards the upkeep of Cemeteries
Saint's Isaand Cemetery Sunday took place last Sunday,and the occasion was blessed with good weather and professional organisation.
Thanks to all involved.,who ensured that the parking was organised safely and efficiently .

PATTERN DAY
Pattern Day will be held at Lady Well,Derrydarragh,on Saturday the 3rd of September at 5.00 p.m. Please note the earlier than usual time.

DEATH.
The death occurred,at her home,of Cathy Gambold,(nee Casey), Derrydarragh, on Monday the 15th of August last.
Born in the townsland of Derrydarragh, Cathy moved to London when she was 21 years of age,only to return to Derrydarragh,a few years ago with her husband Dave.Their beautiful cottage,beside Lady Well,was Cathy's pride and joy,and her door was always open to everybody who called.Cathy was a great character,who lived life to the full and her untimely passing has left us all in shock.Her death will leave a tremendous void in the lives of all those who knew and loved her.To her husband Dave,daughters Michelle,Storm,son John, grandchildren William, David, Corben, Caitlin and Bear, brothers Barney and Jimmy, sisters Josephine, Liza and Maggie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends,we extend our deepest sympathy.May her Soul Rest in Peace.

DEATH
The death occurred, at her home on Saturday the 20th of August last of Patricia Carberry(nee Rodgers)No 1. Derryhaun. Wife of the late Peter and mother of the late Brendan;Patricia was a true lady,devoted mother and wife and her passing will leave a great void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. To her daughters Kitty, Mairead and Patrica (Pat), sons Peader and Noel, her sister Nan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,we extend our deepest sympathy. .May her Soul Rest in Peace.

DEATH
The death occurred of Hannah Clyne [Nee Shea] Rathcline Road Lanesboro Co Longford,  on Wednesday,the  17th of August last.
Hannah passed away at her home after a long illness bravely fought , surrounded by her loving family.Hannah was a kind and gentle woman,a loving wife and mother,whose passing will leave a great void in the lives of those close to her. To her husband, Johnnny and ,and children,Louise, David, Ronan and Gillian,we extend our deepest sympathy. May her Soul Rest in Peace.

NEW ARRIVAL
We extend our congratulations to both Maura and Rory Brehon,on the birth of their baby boy Luke recently and also to John and Niamh Rowan on the birth of their baby son.

Congratulations to our Intermediate Football team,who ,by virtue of their 2-10 to 0-8 victory over Kenagh ,last Sunday evening in Clonbonny, are now through to the County Semi- Final. Well done to all concerned and please keep a lookout for match details,as the team deserves your support.
They play Ballymore in the Div 2 Patsy Reilly Cup semi-final on this Saturday 27th August at 6p.m. in Pairc Chiaran.   
No winner of this week’s Lotto Jackpot of €4,600, numbers drawn 7, 8, 15, 24. The €30 winner of the €5 envelopes was Brendan, Declan and Maeve Bannon, €30 to Mike Clyne and €20 each to The Walshe family, Darogue and Mags Gillen. Jackpot next week is €4,700, draw takes place in “The Peer Inn” and team on duty is Ger Farrell, Peter Murtagh and Justin Murtagh.  Your continued support is much appreciated.

TOURISM WITH BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
Looking for a career focused course? Then enrol on Longford College of Further Education’s 1 year Tourism with Business programme starting September 2016. Ireland is going through a tourism regeneration with employment potential from Center Parcs and from initiatives such as The Wild Atlantic Way, The Greenway Cycle Project and Ireland’s Ancient East project. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment.You dont need to be a farmer to join.

Cairde Beag reopens on Monday 29th August at 9.30am.

EXHIBITION
There will be a Centenary Photographic Exhibition in The Hill,Newtowncashel on Saturday the 3rd, from 6 to 10 p.m., and Sunday the 4th of September from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceed of Admission and Photo Sales are being given to two local children,Rosie and Patrick, to help with Autism and Leukaemia.. CORLEA ENVRIONNMENTAL AWARENESS DAY
As part of the Natural Heritage week,on Saturday the 27th of August,an environmental awareness/bioblitz event will take place at Corlea Visitor Centre with lots of interesting events for young and old.It all kicks off at 2.00 p.m. and runs until late.

The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
