TIDY TOWNS AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Tidy Towns will be held next Monday evening the 9th of March in The Hill at 8:30pm.
All are welcome who have an interest in our little village remaining clean and beautiful.

NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA GROUP
Newtowncashel Drama Group are delighted to announce that the following are the dates for their spring production of 'Cat among Pigeons', a hilarious  comedy,not to be missed  by Tom O Brien. ICA Newtowncashel -
Our March meeting takes place Tuesday 3rd @ 8pm in The Hill. New Members always welcome. Congrats to Breege, Catherine and Pat who won the ICA Quiz and will represent Longford in An Grianian on April 4th. Well done to our President Bríd Sweeney who represented Longford with her Lemon drizzle cake at the recent Sugarcraft event. Whilst she didn't win on the day her cake tasted amazing. We would like to extend our sympathies to our treasurer Nora Nolan on the recent death of her brother Martin Bryce RIP. The best of luck to Newtowncashel drama group with their production of "Cat among the Pidgeons" this weekend.

COMMUNITY ALERT
A new text alert service, Komeer,  is being launched nationwide by An Garda Siochana. This will replace the current text alert system. Many communities, including ourselves, had issues with the last system. The Gardaí have assured us that they will be able to give updates much more quickly and frequently through Komeer. Further details will follow on the Parish Notes.

Ballymahon Day Care Centre
Ballymahon Day Centre offer a wide range of activities from Monday to Friday ranging from art/ crafts, exercises, therapy classes, games, daily trips and hotel breaks throughout the year. In addition we offer a freshly cooked meal daily for our clients. We would like to invite new members from your

Ballymahon Library – Saturday 29th February
On Saturday, February 29th, Ballymahon Community Library is taking part in the first ever National Library Open Day showcasing all that public libraries  have to offer.
Everyone in the area is invited to drop in to see some of the many things that are happening in the library and refreshments will be served from 10.30 until 1pm.
For children there is a creative Mud Bugs Workshop for Ages 5-7 at 10.30 and Ages 8-10 at 12noon and bookings can be made to ballymahonlibrary@longfordcoco.ie or 09064 32546
There is also a 5km Walk from the Library at 11am in collaboration with Longford Sports Partnership and all ages are welcome.  Anyone interested in being part of a walking club can join up on the day at the Library.

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.
