MAY DAY WALK
The annual May Day walk takes place on Monday the 1st of May at 2:30pm from The Hill.
Children start at 2:30 pm from Derrydaragh.
There are a selection of prizes in the raffle on the day for everyone who takes part.

I.C.A.
Newtowncashel monthly meeting takes place on Tuesday the 2nd May at 8pm in "The Hill" Newtowncashel. New members welcome as always.

FINE GAEL
The A.G.M, of Newtowncashel Fine Gael branch will be held in The Hill,this Thursday night the 27th of April at 9,30 p.m. Deputy peter Burke will be in attendance as well as local Fine Gael Councillors.A full turnout is expected and new members are welcome  On Saturday evening the 29th of April and sunday morning the   30th of April,the annual National Fine Gael Churchgate Collection will be taken up.Your support will be much appreciated.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Newtowncashel community games track events will take place on the weekend of the 6th/7th of May. it will be ran off either the Saturday or the Sunday of that weekend.

ST.MARY'S N.S.
St. Mary's N.S. will celebrate the last 50 years and the opening of the new extension with a reunion weekend and Fundraiser on the 11th, 12th, 13th August 2017. The main event,will be a Race Day,at the Kilbeggan evening race meeting on Saturday the 12th of August.Please keep this date in your diary.

G.A.A.
Well done to the Cashel G.A.A Senior Football team ,who defeated Kenagh in the League last weekend.Final score  was Kenagh 1-4,Cashel 1-9.

RESULT
The following are the Lotto draw results from last Sunday night, the 23rd of April.. RACE NIGHT
There will be a Race Night, in aid of those suffering from Motor Neurone Disease, in The Pier Inn, Lisnacusha, Lanesboro, this Saturday the 29th of April at 9.00 p.m. Dance away to the Disco which takes place after it.

PARISH MISSION
Cashel Parish Mission will take place from Monday the 24th tob friday the 28th of April. John Pridmore,ex-gangster and international bestselling Author  of the book ,'From Gangland to Promised Land, will be sharing his amazing story in our local church on Monday night the 24th of April at 8 .00 p.m.
He has been interviewed on RTE,BBC ,ITV, TV3, UTV ,  American TV,Australian TV ,and numerous daily papers and radio shows. John has worked with people such as St.Teresa of Calcutta and was a friend of St.John Paul II.

POETRY WORKSHOP – MARIA EDGEWORTH LITERARY FESTIVAL 5TH-7TH MAY 2017
As part of the Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival 5th-7th May 2017, a Poetry Workshop will take place on Saturday 6th May 2017 in The Old Schoolhouse, Ballymahon Road, Edgeworthstown, Co. TOURISM WITH BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
Looking for a career focused course? Then enrol on Longford College of Further Education’s 1 year Tourism with Business programme starting September 2016. Ireland is going through a tourism regeneration with employment potential from Center Parcs and from initiatives such as The Wild Atlantic Way, The Greenway Cycle Project and Ireland’s Ancient East project. The course offers practical business skills for the workplace as well as accreditation from Quality Qualifications Ireland and awards up to 400 CAO points for progression to third level institutions. This course is free to those in receipt of BTEA or who qualify for a SUSI grant* and to holders of a medical card. The registration fee and government levy is €330 for all other students. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
