NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA GROUP PRESENTS 'MAMMY'S BOY'
Newtowncashel Drama Group presents Mammy's Boy,by local playwright Jimmy Keary, in The Hill,  by local playwright Jimmy Keary,on Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd of March. CES VACANCY
There is a community employment scheme vacancy available in the prize winning village of Newtowncashel.

DEATH
The death occurred of Mattie Reid on Tuesday last the 19th of February. Pre-deceased by his late wife Anne,Mattie was a true community man of Newtowncashel,whose good natured personality shone through in everything that he did.He was especially associated with the Community Games organisation,and for many years,kept it alive and highly functional,in Newtowncashel,a tremendous feat by any standards.He was a very popular man,and was always willing to help out his fellow parishioners,always with a twinkle in his eye. His passing will leave a great void in the lives of all those who knew and loved him.
To his son Chris, & his sister Beth, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, & grandnephews, great grandnieces & great grandnephews, relatives, neighbours & many friends ,we extend our deepest sympathies.May his Soul Rest in peace.

left in staff car park or P.E. shed before 9:30 a.m. This is a valuable

There will be a table quiz for Pieta House in the Local Pub on Friday 8th March . Starts at 9.30.p.m.  4 people per team. €40 per table  .Please support.

GARDEN
The Tidy Towns Committee in conjunction with St.Mary's National School started a vegetable garden last year at the School,which was a great success. They are looking for three parents to volunteer to teach the children how to plant it and maintain it..Please contact Mick Casey at 086 8289811.

BASKETBALL SUCCESS
Well done to the Schoolgirls basketball team on their brilliant 10-9 victory over Colehill in Division 3,School's League Final. last Sunday in The Mall.Well done to Grace Cullen on her player of the match award.Special word to Joe Mulvihill and John Morrisey for all their hard work with the team.

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.

MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
