SANTA 5K FUN RUN
St.Mary's National School Parent's Association are holding a Santa 5K Fun Run on Sunday the 8th of December.
Registration from 2 to 2.30 pm
Race starts at 2.30 pm.
Adults €10
Children €5
Family €20
Route from Village to Claras Crossroads and back to the Village.
Sponsorship cards will be available to all children attending St.Mary's N.S.  Children who return Sponsorship Cards will have free entry into 5K .Also if a child returns €20 or more they will also receive a free entry t-shirt. A family that returns €50 or more on it's sponsorship card will recieve free entry for the children of the family plus a free event t-shirt for each child.Santa arrives at the Hill at 3.pm followed by switching on of Village Christmas Lights.
Don't forget your Santa Hats, Outfits and Christmas Jumpers.!

CONCERN CHRISTMAS FAST
The annual Concern Christmas Fast and Churchgate Collection takes place on the weekend of  7th and 8th December.  Once again your support would be appreciated.

ROCK NIGHT
There will be a Rock Night in the Pier Inn/Rakish Paddys on Saturday night the 30th of November, starting at 7.00 p.m.
Live music by NEON IRL + support.
Food on site and plenty of parking in the usual rally venue.

DEATH
We extend our sympathies to the Smyth family on the death of Maureen Linehan (nee Smyth), Ardmoniel, Killorglin Co.Kerry and formerly of Derryhaun, on Tuesday the 19th of November last.
To her sons John, Paul and Phil, daughters June and Laura, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends we extend our sympathies  May her Soul Rest in Peace.

BAPTISM
We extend congratulations to Kevin and Emma Lennon, Derrymacar, on the baptism of their son Billy, last weekend.

CHRISTMAS RUN
The Annual Christmas Day Run from Newtowncashel to Lanesborough in aid of the Longford branch of MS Ireland is now in it's 29th year. Over the years it has raised much needed funds for Longford MS and we are again asking for your continued support this year. Walkers start from the Hill at 11.45 and runners at 12.15. Refreshments will be available in the Hall in Lanesborough afterwards and all participants receive a running tshirt sponsored by Peter Hanley Motors. Newtowncahel ICA.
We hope everyone has recovered from our lovely meal out in The Villager Glasson. Our December meeting will take place on Tuesday 3rd December at 8pm in The Hill. New members always welcome. We will have the ICA 2020 calender available for sale at the meeting.

FLOWER ARRANGING
Christmas Flower Arranging with Mary Holmes from Clondra, in Cashel on Monday 16th December from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and Tuesday 17th December from 10am to 12 midday. Cost is €15 per session and people can do one or two sessions. Places are limited so its important to book in advance. DRAMA GROUP
Following on from a very successful 2018-2019 season Newtowncashel Drama Group have rehearsals currently underway underway for their spring 2020 production. They are delighted to welcome some debutants on stage this year to accompany their experienced members  Stay tuned to local notes and social media channels for more exciting updates.

SUBMISSIONS
In relation to the Bord na Mona/ESB recent announcements Lanesboro Ballyleague  Collaboration Group met with 3 Government Ministers on Monday last week As a consequence, we have to draw up a strategic plan. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN CASHEL
It's that time of year again when we begin putting up our Christmas Lights. As was seen last year, our first year, we managed to light a large area of our Village
We would like to extend our lights this year, so we are seeking donations, no matter how small from groups or individuals.
To date we have spent over €2000 on lights, so we would appreciate any financial help in order to put lights in all the village Please contact any member of the group in order to make your contribution.
The Lights group is as follows;

There will also be a Churchgate Collection for Newtowncashel Christmas Lights, this weekend, Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th of November.Your donations would be greatly appreciated.

GUN CLUB
Cashel Gun club held their Tom Connolly shoot last Sunday. With nearly 20 shooters taking part, Enda O Shea won the Senior  and Simon Burke won the Novice.A great days shooting was had all and everyone enjoyed the Bar B Q at the break.

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid.
