LOUGH REE MONSTER THE PLAY
The Lough Ree Monster play will take place in St. Mary’s Hall, Lanesboro on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July. This three act play,will be the official launch of the following weekend's Lough Ree Monster Festival.,which takes over the August Bank Holiday weekend.Booking will be by phone 086 – 2460840/3321107, email martinaclyne1@gmail.com  or by calling into Martina in O'Brien's shop and making your booking. Admission will be by booking only and admission costs €10. If booking by email please leave your mobile number with your name.
In the past few days bookings have started to come in and with the expected high demand ,early booking is most definitely advisable.
The cast of the play is a collaboration between Newtowncashel Drama group and the Lough Ree Festival committee with the cast drawn from Newtowncashel,Lanesboro and Ballyleague. The play written by John Kenny, Newtowncashel and directed by Dermot Healy, Newtowncashel ,has the expertise of the Newtowncashel Drama groups experience of many successful years of drama productions.An immensely enjoyable evening's entertainment is assured,

There will be a Trad Session in The Local,this Friday night the 30th of June.Please come along for a great night's entertainment.

CONVENT HOUSE

Newtowncashel ICA held thir last monthly meeting earlier this month before we break for the summer months. We had a busy meeting planning for events that are coming up like the longford show and federation meeting. Congratualtions to our own members and other fellow members on doing very well in the pitch and competition.We also had a fundraiser for down syndrome where an ine cream evening was held as part of or meeting.We've had a busy year and we look forward to a other fun filled year upon our return in September.We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer. We would like to thank "The Local" for our tasteful tea they served us on the night also. Newtowncashel ica wish to extend their deepest sympathy to Treasa Dooner on the passing of her sister.may she rest in peace.

TOURISM WITH BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
Looking for a career focused course? Then enrol on Longford College of Further Education’s 1 year Tourism with Business programme starting September 2016. Ireland is going through a tourism regeneration with employment potential from Center Parcs and from initiatives such as The Wild Atlantic Way, The Greenway Cycle Project and Ireland’s Ancient East project. The course offers practical business skills for the workplace as well as accreditation from Quality Qualifications Ireland and awards up to 400 CAO points for progression to third level institutions. This course is free to those in receipt of BTEA or who qualify for a SUSI grant* and to holders of a medical card. The registration fee and government levy is €330 for all other students. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
