HARD LUCK TO CASHEL.
Hard luck to Cashel,,who were defeated in the County Intermediate Football Final,by Kilashee,last Sunday in Pearse Park.The game was evenly balanced until the last quarter,when Kilashee went ahead and emerged victorious in the end.We congratulate them on their win and wish them all the best in the Leinster Intermediate Championship.Despite losing,Cashel now proceed  to the Leinster Junior Championship.Please keep an eye out for the fixture.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Newtowncashel Community Games will be selling tickets for the National Jubilee draw. Tickets cost 10 euro with 7 euro from every ticket sold going to our own area. First prize is a Kia Cee'd car worth over 20,000 along with many other great runner up prizes. Tickets are available from any committee member and will be sold door to door. Your support for this would be much appreciated.

Newtowncashel ICA monthly meeting takes place on Tuesday 4th October at 8pm in " The Hill" newtowncashel. New members welcome as always.

Bord na Móna Public Information Sessions
Bord na Móna intend to hold a second series of pre-planning Public Information sessions regarding
its proposed Derryadd Wind Farm.
In order for members of the public to be informed about the proposed development, Bord na Móna
has arranged four Public Information sessions, as follows:
Wednesday 28th September 3-9pm St. Brigid’s G.A.A Centre, Killashee
Thursday 29th September 3-9pm The Hill, Newtowncashel
Friday 30th September 3-9pm Keenagh Community Centre
Saturday 1 st October 10-4pm St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Lanesborough
Bord na Móna invites you to attend one of these Public Information sessions. Admission is free. Staff will be on hand to discuss the project

DEFIBRILLATOR GROUP
Newtowncashel Defibrillator Group will provide training for the people of the parish over the coming months.They cannot emphasise the importance of having as many people as possible trained in CPR and use of the Defibrillator.On this Wednesday rhe 28th of September,at 7.30 p.m. in The Hill,,they will provide the opportunity for people who are already trained,to refresh their skills,and welcome anybody that would  like to avail of training.

P.T.A.A.
A  P.T.A.A. meeting will take place on Wednesday the 5th of October,at 8.30 p.m. in The Hill.

OCTOBER STATIONS
The October Station Masses start on Monday October the 3rd at 8,00 p.m. in Andrew and Laura Donlon's,,Derryglosh/Derryshannogue. Anyone who would like a Station Mass in their house,please contact Father Kenny at 043 33 252112.

SYMPATHY
We extend our deepest sympathy to Carmel Donlon,Derryhaun on the death of her father recently .May his Soul Rest in Peace.

DRAMA A.G.M.
The Newtowncashel Drama AGM ,takes place on Monday the 3rd of October at 8.30 pm in 'The Hill'. New members welcome. See you all then!

Sett Dancing Classes
Classes  commenced on Tuesday 20th September in St. Failtheachs GAA club house at 8pm.
Classes are suitable for beginners and you dont need a partner.
Come along and get fit while having fun.

Classes  for children commenced on Tuesday 20th September at 4.15 pm in The Hill in Newtowncashel.
Under 6 years –4.30—5.00
6—9 years        5.00---5.30
9—12  years     5.30---6.00

A teenage class can be arranged should there be a demand for it.
Classes are for boys and girls.

ART CLASSES

TOURISM WITH BUSINESS CERTIFICATE
Looking for a career focused course? Then enrol on Longford College of Further Education’s 1 year Tourism with Business programme starting September 2016. Ireland is going through a tourism regeneration with employment potential from Center Parcs and from initiatives such as The Wild Atlantic Way, The Greenway Cycle Project and Ireland’s Ancient East project. The course offers practical business skills for the workplace as well as accreditation from Quality Qualifications Ireland and awards up to 400 CAO points for progression to third level institutions. This course is free to those in receipt of BTEA or who qualify for a SUSI grant* and to holders of a medical card. The registration fee and government levy is €330 for all other students. MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

The Walking Group continues on Saturday mornings leaving The Hill at 10.00 a.m. All are welcome.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
