PARENTS ASSOCIATION
The Newtowncashel Parent's Association of St,Mary's National School held a very successful Fancy Dress and Draw fundraiser in The Local last weekend.Full results and winners in next week's notes.

STATION MASSES
Thursday the 29th of October; Joe and Mary Flood for Greenhall at 8 p.m.
Friday the 30th of October, Mike and Anne Kenny for Ballinahinch/Cashel at 8 p.m.

BOOK LAUNCH
There will be a Book Launch Evening in Clarke's Bar in Lanesborough on Saturday 7th November at 9pm. This is to launch the newly-published book 'Ubiquitous Q', written by Newtowncashel resident Gill Casey. It features the life of Quetzal Quinn, known to all simply as Q, and is described as a heart-warming, life-affirming and often humorous story. Everyone is welcome to come along.

I.C.A.
Newtowncashel  ICA are holding their monthly meeting in The Hill on Tuesday the 3rd of November at 8 pm.New members welcome as always. A reminder that if you have squares made ,please do bring them along to the meeting.

TIDY TOWNS
There will be a Tidy Towns meeting in The Hill on Wednesday ,November the 4th at 8.39 pm.

PIONEERS
The annual Longford regional Pioneer Dinner Dance will take place,in The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule,on Friday night the 13th of November..Dinner will be served at 9.00 p.m. Music is by T.R. Dallas...All are welcome.

THE LOCAL
There will be both Pool and Darts tournaments commencing in October,please contact Sile or Gary,either by Facebook ,or in the Pub itself,to take part. Ireland kick off their Rugby World Cup journey this Saturday at 2.30 p.m.Refreshments will be served,together with a chance to win a free pint. The All Ireland Football Final kicks off at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday,with Ocean's Eleven playing afterwards We now have a bonus ball draw running every week.Buy a line for €2.00 for a chance to win €94.00.

LONGFORD VTOS
The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting.  It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.  To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.  If you are interested contact Maeve Madden, VTOS Co-ordinator at  087 2050589.
