THE VILLAGE
Since Fr O’Rourke started the Tidy Towns our village has improved greatly. Many people both young and retired have settled here, all say it is a pleasant place to live. The Tidy Towns church gate collection takes place this Saturday and Sunday. Please help us to continue the high standard it has now reached.
HISTORY
History was enacted on Wednesday last on the school grounds, with the unveiling of a large stone bearing the names of the seven signatories of the 1916 proclamation.
Seven oak trees were also planted in remembrance. They were blessed by Fr. Kenny. The seven trees had been presented to the Tidy Towns because of their winning the National Award back in 1980. To conclude, the school choir and band gave a beautiful rendition of The National Anthem as the Tricolour was raised.
