FISHING COMPETITION
Cashel Angling Club hold their Annual Monster Pike Fishing Competition on this Sunday November the 3rd 2019 at Barley Harbour. Places limited to 30 boats.  €2500 in prize money. First Prize €1000 , Second Prize €500 Third Prize€400 Fourth  Prize €300., Fifth Prize €200, Sixth Prize €100.

COMMUNITY GAMES
The new committee of Newtowncashel Community Games was formed following an EGM on Saturday the 26th of October last.

Children's Officer: John Morrissey
Pro: John Kenny
We wish them every success for the year ahead. Details re registration will circulate in the coming weeks
Also,special thanks to outgoing Chairman, Gary Beattie, who under his assured stewardship, brought Community Games , in Cashel ,to a  new level of professionalism and participation  during his tenure in charge. This was evident in the increase in events that the club took part in, and indeed were successful in.
Thanks to Gary for his energy, dedication and vision in charge.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The local Christmas Lights Committee held a very enjoyable Scavanger hunt around the parish of Newtowncashel last Sunday. There were ten clues with each location within our parish. Great fun was had by all and afterwards there was a BBQ in The Local.

FIBRE BROADBAND LIVE IN NEWTOWNCASHEL
Fibre Technology has been laid along these routes at the end of 2018 and is now live to 200 homes/businesses marked on the map. For approximately 90-95% of these premises fibre will be delivered directly into the home enabling speeds of up to 1000Mb/s (1Gb/s), with 5-10% of premises served with superfast broadband of up to 100Mb/s.

FREE TRANSPORT
The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01 2310 522.
