PIKE FISHING COMPETITION
Cashel Angling Club stage a Monster Pike Angling Competition on Sunday the 5th of Nover at Barley Harbour.,frpm 11 am to 4 pm..First Prize,€1000,..Second Prize,€500..Third Prize,€400..Fourth Prize,€300...Fifth Prize,€200..Sixth Prize,€100. Newtowncashel ICA monthly meeting takes place on Tuesday the 7th November at 8pm in The Hill Newtowncashel.New members welcome as always. Congrats to all on the successful cookery night held with chef Adrian on Wednesday night last the 25th. A great night had and enjoyed by all. A variety of Craft classes have been organised so we look forward to taking part and a bus has been organised to the knit and stitch show which always promises to be a great day out. Also for all the ladies and men who like line dancing there is line dancing on a Tuesday night at 8pm in The Chestnut Tree in Killashee. ICA has something for everyone so why not come along and see what it is all about.

TIDY TOWNS
The monthly Tidy Towns meeting takes place in The Hill, this Monday the 6th of November at 8.00 p.m.
All are welcome.

PLAYGROUND
Last Sunday the 29th of October,saw the official opening of the local Playground. A large crowd turned up,for the occassion,with the fine weather adding to the day.Well done to all involved,

Congratulations to both Maureen (Fagan) and Kenneth Mc Keown,on the birth of their baby,recently.

SYMPATHY
We extend our deepest sympathy to Caroline Bermingham,Forthill,on the death of her brother James,last weekend. May his Soul Rest in Peace.

BADMINTON
Lanesboro/Ballyleague Badminton Club are looking for people who would love to try badminton or rekindle their love of it. We are holding open nights every Tuesday night at 9:30pm in St Mary Hall in Lanesboro for the month of November. Rackets will be provided so just come along and have a go and see what it's all about. The club are also holding their annual Table Quiz on Saturday the 18th of November in Clarke's Bar in Lanesboro, so grab a team and join us

PTAA
The Longford Region of the PTAA are holding their Annual Dinner Dance in The Rustic Inn ,Abbeyshrule,on Friday night the 10th of November 2017. DEFIBRILLATOR GROUP
Cashel Defibrillator Group,will commence training in the coming weeks.We invite you all to avail of the opportunity to train in CPR and the use of the Defibrillator. Please contact Geraldine at 086 8566608,if you are interested in training.

ART CLASSES
Beginner art classes with tutor Frances Kelleher commencing Tuesday morning 17th October 10.30 to 12.30. Venue Ballymahon tba. Please bring along sketch pad, notebook, pencils and soft eraser.
Improver classes, Ballymahon Art Club, continue each Tues evening 7 - 9 at Betty Fox's Main St. All welcome for each session.

MACRA
Macra are looking for young people to join a new Macra club. Macra is a non profit organisation for young people 17-35,it has 6 key activities such as Agriculture,Sports,Performing Arts,Travel,Public Speaking and Community Involvoment. You dont need to be a farmer to join.

The Longford VTOS programme is now recruiting. It offers full time business and computer training free of charge.
To qualify you must be over 21 and in receipt of a social welfare payment.
