CALLAGHAN’S PLACE
Newtowncashel Drama Group’s production of “Callaghan’s Place” by John McDwyer goes on stage in "The Hill" on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th February.  Admission is strictly by ticket only.  Tickets may be booked with Kevin Casey, (086) 252 1536, or any member of the group.  Adults, €10.00.  Primary and secondary students €5.00.

CREDIT UNION QUIZ SUCCESS
Congratulations to the Under-11 Quiz Team from St Mary’s National School who took victory at the Ballyleague-Lanesboro Credit Union Quiz on Sunday in Ballyleague Hall!  The team was Emma Casey, Joseph Kenny, Luke Mulvihill, Mark Brehon and Conor Skelly. Well done also to the school’s Under-13 Team of Brian Kelly, Eoin Mulvihill, Lochlann Healy, Gerard Brennan and Jamie Birmingham, which came joint-second place in their category!

OPEN NIGHT
Ballymahon Vocational School holds its open day/night on Thursday February 7th.  Would-be students and their parent are invited. Enrolment will take place from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and also on Saturday February 9th from 10.00am to 12.00 noon.  There is no closing date.

TEMPERANCE SUNDAY
Pioneers who are eligible for Silver or Gold emblems (pins) are asked to contact any member of the Cashel Pioneer Council immediately. Likewise, young people who wish to advance to the next stage of membership.  Emblems and diplomas will be presented on Sunday next, Temperance Sunday.

GAA LOTTO
Results of this week’s lotto will appear in next week’s notes.  Jackpot next week is €2,100 and Team on duty will be contacted prior to draw.

Congratulations to Natalie and Pat McDonagh, Derrygowna, on the birth of their new baby boy last week.

"THE HILL"
At a joint meeting of the Hall Committee and representatives of hall user groups the basic rate for meetings and smaller gatherings was set at €20.00.  Other events will attract higher rates.

TIDY TOWNS
The monthly Tidy Towns meeting will be held in “The Hill” on Wednesday the 6th of February at 8:00 pm. All members are asked to attend please.
Village Lighting has been approved for funding by LCRL, likewise, a Tús worker application.

SYMPATHY
We offer our sincere sympathy to the family friends and neighbours of Terence Sudway, Templeogue, Dublin, and formerly of Elfeet Burke, who died on Sunday last.  May he rest in peace.

TALKS FOR THE YEAR OF FAITH
The first of four talks will be given in the Pastoral Centre, St Mel’s College, Longford, on Thursday February 7th, at 8.00pm.  The topic, “Faith and Parenting”, the speaker, Mary Quinn, a parent and teacher with many years’ experience in parenting programmes.
