ST MARY’S NATIONAL SCHOOL ENROLMENT
Enrolment for St Mary’s National School for September 2013 takes place from March 11th to 22nd. Enrolment packs can be collected from the school and relevant forms returned during this period.
NEWTOWNCASHEL DEFIBRILLATOR GROUP
The fourth defibrillator has been installed at Derryhawn. People from that area are invited to contact Geraldine Greene (087) 619 0134, or Mairéad Farrell (086) 856 6608, to avail of training. The group thanks installers Ronan Muldoon and Dermot Nolan, and the property owners who have accommodated the storage boxes. A refresher class for residents of Portanure and adjoining townlands will be held in the GAA Clubhouse at 8.00pm on Wednesday March 6th. Trained personnel are asked to make a special effort to attend and refresh their skills. It is planned to have a class for beginner the following week. Would-

The Newtowncashel Guild holds its March meeting in "The Hill" on Tuesday March 5th at 8.00pm sharp. All members are requested to attend, new members welcome.

The Club invites people to take out membership and to support the Club Lotto. Club members will visit the houses of the parish in coming weeks to provide details enabling people to do this.
TALKS FOR THE YEAR OF FAITH
The second of four talks for the Year of Faith will be given in the Pastoral Centre, St Mel’s College, Longford, on Thursday March 7th, at 8.00pm. The topic is “Faith and the Living Earth”, the speaker Fr Huge O’Donell, a member of the Salesian community and author of “Eucharistic and the Living Earth” (2012). All are welcome.
EARLY MORNING LENTEN MASSES
During Lent, Mass will be celebrated at 7.00am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. All are welcome.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Stations of the Cross is a devotion that may be performed at any time of the year but is particularly suited to the Lenten Season. Instead of the Rosary, the Way of the Cross will be followed in the Church on the Fridays of Lent at 7.30pm. All are urged to make a special effort to participate in this traditional devotion.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament continues on Wednesdays from 3.00pm to 9.00pm. All are welcome.
LOURDES PILGRIMAGE
The Annual Pilgrimage takes place from May 27th to June 1st, and the organisers request the names of sick people who would like to join the pilgrimage. Names should be submitted as soon as possible please to Elizabeth Clyne (043) 332 5156.
The recent Lourdes Sick Pilgrims’ Collection realised €530.00. The organisers thank the collectors and all who contributed so generously. The fund is used to subsidise the air fare of sick or assisted people who join the Diocesan Pilgrimage.

Fr Brady wishes to extend his appreciation and thanks, for their welcome, hospitality and generosity, to the households who hosted the Stations – to those who stepped in spontaneously and to all who accommodated the calendar.
FIRST CONFESSIONS
Ten children will come to the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Thursday March 7th, at 7.00pm.
TEEN MASS
Teenagers are the main participants in next Sunday’s Mass. All young people are invited. All are welcome.
A full rehearsal for all participants in the upcoming Teen Mass on March 10th will be held in the Church on Friday March 8th, from 6.00pm sharp to 7.00pm.
