NEW VILLAGE RESIDENT
It is good to see a new resident come back to the village. Michael Murray, a native of the parish has returned to take up residence after a successful career in Teagasc.
Now Chairman of the Tidy Towns, a prominent member of St Christopher’s and the Harvest Festival, we welcome this man of many talents.

NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA GROUP
Newtowncashel Drama Group began the new season with their 30th Annual General Meeting. Held Monday 7th October the meeting began with thanks to all the actors, backstage help and supporters who made last year’s production such a success, a great job was done by a great team. Officers elected for the coming 2013 - 2014 season: Chairperson: Sean Farrell, Vice Chair: Larry Gallagher, Secretary: Catherine Gallagher, Assistant Secretary: Gillian Brogan, Treasurer: Kevin Casey, Assistant Treasurer: Bridget Casey, Stage Manager: Tara Healy, Public Relations Officer: Jane Hedge, Presidents: Michael Casey & Fr. Gerard Brady , Social Committee: Mary Casey, Tara Healy and Gillian Brogan, and Producer: Dermot Healy. There will be a meeting on the Thursday 10th October at 8:30pm in The Hill, Newtowncashel to begin casting for and reading the new play. New members are always welcome, and if anyone wishes to act, please come along to our next meeting or make yourself known to one of us. Parts are allocated quickly amongst our keen group so please speak up soon. Backstage help is also important to our success and always gratefully received. Newtowncashel Drama group invite you to join us for another season in the fine tradition of amateur drama.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Cashel Community Games A.G.M. takes place on Thursday the 17th October at 8.30 p.m. in the G.A.A. Clubhouse.If we don't have enough interest,then the Community Games will not take place.So we are hoping that there will be a large turnout.

A.G.M.
Longford Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability-Newtowncashel Branch,will hold it's A.G.M. in The Hill this Thursday the 10th of October at 8.00 p.m. All are welcome.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Siobhan Killian and John Joe Stephenson who were married on Saturday last.

CONFIRMATION
The enrolment Mass for Confirmation will be celebrated this sunday the 13th of October at 10.30 a.m.

ROSARY
October is the month of The Rosary.The weekly recitation of the Rosary resumes on Friday the 4th of October at 7.30 p.m.All are welcome

MASS
The enrolment Mass for First Confession and First Holy Communion will be celebrated on Sunday the 20th of October at 10.30 a.m.

TEENAGE MASS
There will be a practice for the next Teenage Mass in the Church,this Saturday the 12th of October at 8.35 p.m.(after Mass).Second Level students and all who are supportive of this initiative are urged to attend.

DEATH
The death occurred on Wednesday the 2nd of October last,of Brigid Smyth nee Grier,Cornadough.To her Daughters,Mary,Geraldine Frances and son Pat,we extend our deepest sympathy.May her Soul Rest in Peace.
