TIDY TOWNS
Newtowncashel Tidy Towns holds it's March meeting ,in The Hill ,this Wednesday the 12th  of March, at 8.00 p.m.

JUNIOR CHOIR
The Junior Choir will rehearse in the Church this Saturday the 15th of March from 5.30 p.m to 6.30 p.m.,in preperation for 'Do this in Memory on Sunday the 23rd March.Please note the earlier date for the rehersal due to  Confirmation on Saturday the 22nd March.

G.A.A.
Well done to the Cashel Clubmen,Andrew Farrell and Gavin Kelly,who ,on Wednesday last beat Laois after extra time in the Leinster u-21 Football Championship.They meet dublin in the Semi-Final at O Moore Park ,Portlaoise on wednesday the 19th of March at 7.30 p.m.

ST.PATRICKS DAY
This year's theme for the Longford st.Patrick's Parade,which commences at 12.30 p.m.,is 'Longford;Arts and Culture'.St.Fáithleach's G.A.A. car park is the starting point for the Lanesboro/Ballyleague parade at 2.30 p.m.
Entries close this wednesday the 12th of March.

A very exciting week in the Egan household when John,Alan and their family arrive from Queensland for the wedding on Friday of Fiona and Kevin.

COMMUNITY GAMES
Best of luck to all who take part in the County Talent Competition,this Sunday the 12th of March, in the Backstage Theatre. At the moment Cashel have entries in both the Solo Singing and Novelty Act.Best of luck to all.

DEATH
We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the Brennan family,Lismagawley,on the death of Fr.Gerard Brennan,in Scotland,last weekend.

SUCCESSFUL PLOUGHING BOOTCAMP
Spring was in the air on Saturday afternoon in Brian and Tess Doyle's field. A meithil of fourteen ploughs gathered for the annual Novice Ploughing Match.
With conventional and vintage ploughs in action, spectators enjoyed seeing older machines in action and recalled memories of farming in times past.

CONFIRMATION
The Pre-Confirmation Ceremony of Light and Reconcilation takes place this Wednesday the 12th of March at 7.30 p.m. The candidates for Confirmation and their fathers and mothers are expected to be present.Each child should bring his/her Baptismal .Bishop Francis Duffy visited the Confirmation classes at St.Mary's National School on Thursday last.

LENTEN MASSES
During Lent,Mass will be celebrated at 7.00 a.m. on Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays,beginning on Ash Wednesday.This arrangement will give a greater number of people the chance to  come to Mass during Lent.
