Longford Toastmasters
Would you like to be more confident at speaking in public and to learn how to improve your communication skills? Longford Toastmasters are looking for new members to join our club. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month in The Longford Arms Hotel from 8.20pm until 10.30pm. Our next meeting takes place on 17 Oct. NEWTOWNCASHEL DRAMA GROUP
Newtowncashel Drama Group began the new season with their 30th Annual General Meeting. On Monday 7th October Chairman Sean Farrell paid tribute to departed members of the group.
Kathleen McGann of Derryhaun passed away April 7th of this year. A part of our group since the beginning Kathleens name has became synonymous with that of Newtowncashel Drama. An outstanding actress, Kathleen was matriarch to the group and an inspiration to the cast and younger members. A natural performer and a huge support on stage Kathleen could always be relied upon to carry on when another member forgot their line or some other mishap occurred. When a new member joined she would take them under her wing and help them find their feet. At her removal Newtowncashel Drama group provided a guard of honour, Kathleen will be fondly remembered.
Liam Finnegan left our group at the end of last season. Most recently our Chairman, producer and director, Liam has been with the group since the 1980’s. In 29 years with the group Liam has filled many roles, in the early days manning the door and being a member of the production team, to director for the last thirteen years. In 2011 not only did he direct the production “Canaries” he played the part of “Dad” a retired docker. Anita Finnegan a long time member of our group has also departed. COMMUNITY GAMES
Cashel Community Games A.G.M. takes place on this Thursday the 17th October at
8.30 p.m. in the G.A.A. Clubhouse. If we don't have enough interest,then the Community Games will not take place.
So we are hoping that there will be a large turnout.
PARENT'S ASSOCIATION
The .A.G.M. of the Parent's Association of St.Mary's National School takes place in the school on Wednesday the 23rd of October at 9.00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.New members are welcome.
DEATH

HARVEST FESTIVAL
TheHarvest Festival Committee have made a donation of €200.00 to 'The Hill'.The gesture is greatly appreciateed and welcome.Harvest Day raised €6000.00 for St.Christopher's.Here's to Festival 2014!
