BOIL WATER NOTICE
A Boil Water Notice was issued by  Irish Water and Longford County Council on Wednesday the 3rd of September. Most of the Southern half of the Parish of Cashel is affected. Specific details, advice and instructions are given with the notice.

TIDY TOWNS
Well done to all involved in Newtowncashel,who secured 311 marks and retained it's Silver Medal at the National Tidy Towns Awards 2014,last week.Adjudicators visited Newtowncashel on the 30th of June and the 25th of July.Well done to all involved ,in maintaining such consistent high standards in this competition.

PARISH MISSION
The Parish Mission is now two weeks away. Pastoral Council members will distribute publicity material this week.Members of the Vincentian 'Ember' team are to speak at both Masses this weekend.They will commence house to house visitation on Monday the 22nd of September.

DEFIBRILLATOR GROUP
The Newtowncashel Defibrillator Group hold their A.G.M.  on this Wednesday, the  17th of  September ,at 8.00 p.m. in the G.A.A. Clubhouse. Your support will be appreciated and new members are most welcome. Training is ongoing. Would be participants are urged to contact any member without hesitation.

NEW ARRIVAL
We extend congratulations to both Noel and Linda Ferguson on the birth of their baby girl recently.

STATION MASSES
The Autumn Station Masses will be celebrated from the 6th to the 30th of October . Householders who are to host the stations may arrange dates when convenient if they have not already done so.

DRAMA GROUP
Newtowncashel Drama Group began the new season with their Annual General Meeting in The Hill, Wednesday 10th September. The meeting began with thanks to all the actors, backstage help and supporters who made last years production such a success.
Officers elected for the coming season: Chairperson: David Hanley, Vice Chairperson: Sean Farrell, Secretary: Catherine Gallagher, Treasurer: Katie Kenny, Assistant Treasurer: Liz Hanley, PRO: Jane Hedge, Presidents: Michael Casey & Fr. Gerard Brady , Producer: Dermot Healy, Stage Manager: Tara Healy, Social Committee: Mary Casey, Gillian Brogan and Tara Healy.
As well as our usual production, a proposal was made to enter a one act play in the coming festival, we wish everyone involved the best of luck.
Our next meeting to be held in The Hill, will be on Monday 6th October. New members are always welcome and all help much appreciated. Newtowncashel Drama group invite you to join us for another season in the fine tradition of amateur drama.

COFFEE DAY
The Annual Hospice Coffee Day,will be held in The Hill,this Thursday the 18th of September,from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The organisersvwould appreciate the customary support and generosity.

SET DANCING
Set Dancing classes will be held in Sorohan's Lifebelt Bar,Ballyleague,each Tuesday at 8.00 p.m. ,commencing the 16th of September.Beginners and experienced dancers catered for.This is an opportunity to get fit while having fun.Everybody welcome.Please Contact Mairéad Casey on 086 8546433 for further information.
