SENIOR CHOIR
A Choir practise will be held in the Sylvia Dawson Hall on Wednesday June 26th. The choir have been invited to take part in a Choral Performance in Longford this Saturday evening, June 29th, as part of Longford Arts Festival.
CAIRDE BEAG
Cairde Beag Open Day is on Thursday 27th June from 9.30 to 12.30. Anyone who has their child enrolled or who would still like to enrol their child for September '13 are welcome. SUMMER CAMP

PARISH BARBEQUE
The Annual Parish Barbeque takes place on the Bank Holiday Sunday, the 4th of August, at 5p.m. at the Quarry Park once again. LONGFORD FEDERATION ICA GARDEN COMPETITION 2013
Flower Garden Competition: This competition is open to ICA members only. 1st Prize: Philo Kelly, Perpetual Trophy and valuable runner up prizes for 2nd and 3rd place in the competition.
Vegetable Garden Competition: This competition is open to all gardeners, male and female in Co. Longford. 1st Prize: Quinn Supply Stores, Perpetual Trophy and valuable runner up prizes for 2nd and 3rd prize in the competition.

Cemetery Sundays – Saints’ Island Cemetery, August 18th; Cashel Cemetery, August 25th. Mass and Prayers for the Dead, 6.00pm. These Masses will replace the 10.30am Mass in the Church.
Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady Well, Derrydarragh, on Saturday September 7th, the eve of the Feast of the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mass follows the recitation of the Rosary at 6.00pm. This Mass will replace the Saturday evening Mass in the Church.

Full marks to the people who have done so much to present the Village to best advantage. All are asked to be vigilant with regard to litter disposal and control. In 2012 the first adjudication took place on June 5th. The judges are due any day now and may well already have visited!
HARVEST FESTIVAL
A fundraising Table Quiz will be held in Doyle’s of Kenagh, on Friday June 28th. Tables of 4, €40.
A Sponsored Walk takes place along the Grand Canal at Kenagh on Sunday July 14th. The Festival is in Newtowncashel on Sunday September 1st. Proceeds are in aid of St Christopher’s, Newtowncashel Tidy Towns and Cashel GAA Club.

PIONEER OUTING
The Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule Pioneer Association host a tour this Sunday, June 30th, visiting the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast. Those travelling from Cashel may board at Farrelly’s Coaches, Kenagh, at 6.55am. The coach will leave from Carrickedmond Church Car Park at 7.15am, stopping at the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan, on the outbound and return journeys. LCRL SHOWCASE EVENT
Longford Community Resources Ltd (LCRL) is holding a showcase event in the Temperance Hall Longford on Friday the 28th of June, from 11am until 2pm. This occasion provides the opportunity for people from around the county to come in and view the work carried out by LCRL within local communities in Co. Longford. Exhibitors will include representatives from local community groups, enterprises and local initiatives that have benefited from the programmes administered by LCRL. All are welcome to call in, browse through the projects and chat to exhibitors and LCRL staff.
DOG WARDEN
The Dog Warden will be in the area in the coming weeks inspecting dog licences. All dog owners are asked to ensure that they have the necessary paperwork in order!
