“THE LAST WEEK”
Well done to all involved in presenting “THE LAST WEEK” in Newtowncashel, Scramogue and Tang churches last weekend!! A huge amount of work went into the production, in rehearsals, in the scene constructions and decorating the churches for the nightly performances, in printing and refreshments!! Huge thanks also to all who came along on the three nights to support the choirs despite the bitterly cold evenings!

SENIOR CHOIR REHEARSAL
The Senior Choir will hold a practise in the church on Wednesday March 27th at 8.00pm. The Senior Choir will provide the liturgical music at the Good Friday Ceremonies at 3.00pm and at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night, 9.00pm. All members are asked to attend please. Anyone interested in joining the choir following the staging of “The Last Week” at the weekend will be very welcome to join in!! New members are welcome at any time!
JUNIOR CHOIR REHEARSALS
The Junior Choir will hold a rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon, 5.00 – 6.30pm, and on Good Friday following the 3.00pm Ceremonies, lasting about an hour The Junior Choir will provide the liturgical music on Holy Thursday and Easter Sunday. All members are asked to be present please, and new members are always welcome!

TIDY TOWNS
The monthly Tidy Towns meeting will be held in “The Hill” on Wednesday the 3rd of April at 8:00 pm. All members are asked to attend please.
GAA RACE DAY
Longford GAA are hosting their 11th annual Race Day at Punchestown on “Gold Cup Day” Wednesday 24th April. Cashel GAA Club will host a table there and are looking for people to join them for the day. The ticket price of €100 covers the following, admission to the races, race card, four course meal, celebrity tipsters, bar facilities, bookies and hot afternoon refreshments all of which represents great value. This is a great social occasion and meeting place with Longford people and friends from all over the Country. Car-

Carrickedmond PTAA are considering a tour on a Sunday in July to visit the Titanic exhibition in Belfast. LONGFORD HARVEST FESTIVAL
Longford Harvest Festival will be held in Newtowncashel on Sunday September 1st. The event features working displays of vintage machinery, horse and tractor, with associated demonstrations and activities. This promises to be a very interesting and entertaining afternoon for family and enthusiasts. Proceeds on the day to St Christopher’s.
The next meeting will be held in Fallon’s, Newtowncashel, on Tuesday week, March 26th, at 9.00pm. A fundraising Table Quiz is scheduled for Friday April 26th.

Longford Federation ICA is happy to sponsor a Longford entrant in the 2013 Rose of Tralee competition. The criteria for the successful applicant are as follows:
1 – the applicant must be from Longford
2 – must have a connection in ICA, ie mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, Godmother, etc
3 – be aged between 18 years on 1st January and 27 years on 31st August.

Confessions, in preparation for the Easter Triduum, on Tuesday March 26th, at 8.00pm in Newtowncashel, and on Wednesday March 27th at 7.30pm in Lanesboro. Visiting confessors will attend in both instances. Those who wish to go to Confession for Easter are encouraged to avail of these opportunities.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Wednesday March 27th will begin at 3.00pm and conclude at the earlier time of 8.00pm, to facilitate the Senior Choir rehearsal.
TRÓCAIRE
The Trócaire collection will be taken up during the Ceremonies on Good Friday. Family fast boxes may also be returned on Holy Thursday.
