Longford Agricultural Show:

This Sunday all roads lead to Ennybegs N39 Wk53 for this years Agricultural show, a big day in the calendar of rural life.

There’s something for all the family, from the very young to our seniors, with all animal classes, dog show, crafts, food, music, you’ll be spoiled for choice.

I firmly believe we should have show committee members visit all schools in the county each year to encourage children to submit crafts, exhibits etc, it would be a big learning/educational experience for many.
Hope to see many of you there on the day.

Get Well Wishes:

We send get well wishes to Rosaleen Egan, Derryhawn, who is presently convalescing from a small accident, we hope you make a full and speedy recovery. Hopefully Tommy will be spoiling you rotten.

Annual Pe Farrell Memorial Trout Fishing Comp:

What has now become an annual event in memory of founding member of Cashel Fishing Club, the Pe Farrell Memorial Trout Fishing Competition was held on Sunday from Barley Harbour.

Weather conditions were not that favourable on the day with a strong north westerly blowing, but it didn’t deter the hardy anglers.

Winners on the day and Congratulations to Ollie & Matthew Fallon (father and son) who won 1st place to take home the Cup. We'll done lads! Ollie and his son Matthew are no strangers to Lough Ree with Ollie the son of John and Geraldine Fallon Cullentra, he has clocked up many years of fishing on Lough Ree.

Great to see a great Cashel Man, avid angler and gentleman like Pe, being honoured in such a way by his fellow anglers.

Longford GAA Car Draw:

Cashel GAA have been allocated tickets to sell for the upcoming Longford GAA Car Draw.

First prize is a brand new Hyundai Tucson Platinum PHEV or €50,000 Cash

Second Prize is €1,500

Third Prize is €1,000

Fourth Prize is €1,000

There are also two early bird draws to come which are:
